“What were they thinking?!” -James Rolfe Bubsy T. Bobcat , the paw-some pun-isher. Gex the Gecko , the most media savvy to ever do it. It’s the mid 90s. 2D platformers are all the rage, and a certain Italian plumber and blue hedgehog have an absolute stranglehold on the genre. With all trailblazers, of course, will come those riding on their coattails in search of equal or greater glory. As a result, we’ve got two mascots of the times. If they’re not flapping their gums for pop culture references, they’re getting up to some grade A mischief while saving the day. Is Bubsy too furrocious an opponent for the lizard to handle, or does Gex steal the show yet again and change the channel on the kitty’s lease on life?
