“Where focus goes, energy flows. And where energy flows, whatever you're focusing on grows.” -Tony Robbins

Atom Eve, the Sub-Atomic Superheroine of Invincible.

Gwen Tennyson, the Mana-Manipulating Mage of Ben 10.

Prodigies of science and magic. Talented with the spellbooks, and gifted with the structure of molecules. These two redhead superheroines fortified their knowledge into a force to be reckoned with, standing tall with the heroes of earth to defend against the invaders and conquerors moving across the sky in the form of pink energy constructs. Will the Anodite fracture, or will Eve be out of favor of the luck of a girl? Time to find out in this aesthetically pink DEATH BATTLE!

Before We Start…

Both of these characters have somewhat straightforward media with a bit of supplementary material on the side but luckily, it isn’t too complicated regardless. For Eve, we will take into account the Invincible comics and TV show, and other pieces of Invincible media such as the Invincible: Guardian of the Globe game.

For Gwen, the original Ben 10 show, Alien Force, Ultimate Alien, and Omniverse will all be taken into account, along with other Ben 10 media such as the Cartoon Network Action Packs comics, the various Ben 10 books, and the Ben 10 video games such as Vilgax Attacks and Cosmic Destruction.

Secondly, Atom Eve in particular has lots of information we received from this blog that needs credit. Special thanks to my good friend Tru for lending a lot of Invincible stat information from his Lord Boros vs Battle Beast blog, and double special thanks to HippoVSStuff for his character analysis on Atom Eve herself, and triple thanks to this respect thread compiled for Atom Eve a month ago that helped round up feats from the shows. It was a huge help for the workload of this blog and he graciously allowed us to use it. We also pulled information and some calcs from the G1 Omni-Man vs Bardock blog so be sure to check that out if you haven't already.

Also, spoiler warning for Invincible stuff for those who have only watched the show. This information covers everything in the comics that would be considered beyond the plot of Season 2. You have been warned!

Background

Atom Eve

“It’s all atoms when you get down to it. I rearrange the atoms and some things turn into other things. It’s pretty simple…in a really complicated way.”

Samatha Eve Williams was born as a science experiment, killing her mother as she was born in a hospital. A hospital where coincidentally a couple had just lost their child in a miscarriage, so as the government had tried to take the child. She had been declared dead by her creator and given to the couple, naming her after the first woman, Eve.

Her creator had continued to watch over her as she grew up, seeing her develop both as a person and her own abilities. Instead of speaking the traditional first words of “Mama” or “Dada”, she would say “CH2OH-C-OH…” …you get the idea. She would speak, see and understand the very elements and matter that make up our world. And although she  was a genius, her school would not agree. Especially not helped by her own father considering her a freak, but maybe being a freak wouldn’t be so bad when she discovered that she can manipulate the very atoms she could see in youth. As she built up her powers to change food and clothes, she sought out crime fighting. Eventually even meeting her creator who would tell her to create a secret identity and not work for the government, taking on the role as Atom Eve

As they bonded and grew closer over time, she would eventually meet her test tube siblings. They all resent her because of how she was the ‘perfect’ specimen while they were considered failures, but while Eve felt bad about having to fight them… they had to die all the same. Which would become a recurring theme in Eve’s life as her own creator died by the hands of the government, triggering the most powerful parts of Eve to erase their memories of what had happened. Leaving Eve as the only one to remember it all… remembering her true family.

Years later she would meet a fellow hero named Rex Splode, as they would date for a while and be a part of the superhero group, “Teen Team”. But as they grew older, Rex became more distant and cheated on Eve with a fellow member of the team, Dupli-Kate. Eve felt lost and really couldn’t figure out much other than wanting to help the world… that is at least until she met the one and only, Invincible. Invincible and Eve would grow a tight friendship, being around each other constantly and beating the bad guys together. Eve caught feelings towards Mark very quickly, but couldn’t act on them because of his relationship with another woman named Amber. But as they eventually broke up on mutual terms, Eve directly confronted Mark and asked “So are we dating or what”.

This would lead to a close relationship built on young love, so close that they would feel something missing from them when they were apart… especially as Mark would be forced to leave upon months on end, this not helped by her being brutally ripped apart by an older Viltrumite named Conquest. Causing Eve to hide that she took a pregnancy test and had gotten an abortion. This would be a deeply traumatic experience for both Eve and Mark, but as they felt such horrible depression from what she had been forced to do. They found forgiveness and happiness within each other, as they would give birth to a baby together. Their daughter, Terra Grayson.

As Mark would battle against the strongest forces in the universe themselves, Eve would be there by his side to face them. No matter a multiverse traveling scientist, an army of robots, or even the king of the Viltrumite race itself. Nothing broke their bond and stopped their pure love for each other… as corny as it may sound, their love is truly… Invincible

Gwen Tennyson

“If I wanted to take it easy, I’d go live with my grandma. I’m not about to let anyone down.”

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Tennyson was seemingly an ordinary albeit extraordinarily brilliant child prodigy, who grew up alongside her older brother Ken Tennyson and her cousin Ben Tennyson (who coincidentally was born on the exact same day as her), who lived a relatively normal life. However, that would change on one fateful summer, reluctantly taken on a road trip instead of a summer-study program that she had wanted, Gwen and Ben prepared for the most boring summer vacation imaginable. Things would quickly take a turn, however, as her cousin would soon be taken in by destiny  upon stumbling upon the most powerful device in the known universe, the Omnitrix. Their summer plans would swiftly get uprooted, as the family faced an unending series of alien and supernatural threats.

While initially lacking powers of her own she wasn’t restricted to the sidelines. Aiding in whatever she could, using her intellect, and wit. But her prominence would only get upgraded, as she’d soon discover she had an unexpected proficiency in the mystic arts after temporarily holding powerful relics known as the charms of bezel, dawning the alias of Lucky Girl, and stopping the evil sorcerer Hex. Even after losing said charms, an interest in the supernatural was sparked within her. Furthered upon gaining a Grimoire off of the villain Charmcaster, she’d become a formidable sorceress in her own right. Even after the summer, continuing her magical studies while balancing the rest of her life.

Five years later Ben had removed the Omnitrix, a terribly traumatic adventure years prior. Fortunately, it seemed that the Earth was safe for now. However, Gwen did not use this peace as an excuse to quit her studies. Gwen had mastered her abilities and became a black belt in karate, though she mostly relied on her powers. She could create mana constructs for various purposes, such as levitating platforms, energy blasts, sense people’s life force, and even opening interdimensional portals. Just in time too, unbeknownst to our heroes an alien race known as the Highbreed had been planning a secret invasion. Pushing Ben to re-equip the Omnitrix, Gwen would assist him in this conflict as they formed an Alien Force to stop the oncoming invasion. Often acting as a voice of reason and compassion. During this time, she developed a romantic relationship with Kevin, a former villain, and now teammate, supporting him even when Ben questioned his loyalty. Despite initially rejecting the idea that her powers came from an alien bloodline, she discovered that her paternal grandmother, Verdona, was an Anodite, an energy being from the planet Anodyne. Verdona offered to take Gwen to train in the ways of the Anodites, but Gwen chose to remain on Earth with her friends and family.

Gwen's powers continued to evolve throughout the series. In moments of intense emotion, such as when Kevin was threatened by a Highbreed Commander, she unleashed her dormant Anodite form, revealing the vast extent of her abilities. However, she also struggled to maintain control of this immense power, with Kevin bringing her back to reality during a critical moment. Her bond with Ben also fluctuated, with moments of rivalry, especially when Ben's ego grew, but their sibling-like relationship remained strong, and they consistently supported each other when needed.

Gwen's relationship with Kevin deepened, even when he mutated due to an accident involving the Omnitrix. She reassured him that his appearance didn’t matter to her, and the two shared tender moments, like when Kevin gave her a locket to remember his human form. Gwen's unwavering loyalty to Kevin was tested when he absorbed too much power and became a threat. Determined to save him, she sought out extreme measures, including an alliance with Michael Morningstar, another enemy of theirs, to return Kevin to his normal self.

Throughout her adventures, Gwen matured, balancing her education with her responsibilities as a hero. She returned to Bellwood on occasion after starting college and took up the mantle of Lucky Girl once more, showcasing her continued growth as both a sorceress and an Anodite. Her journey was marked by moments of great personal sacrifice, love, and her determination to protect her friends and family, proving she’s a formidable hero in her own right. Despite getting her through her own grit, you have to admit she’s one… Lucky Girl.

Experience & Skill

Atom Eve

Atom Eve was always pretty good with her powers. Even as a young child she could effectively use her powers to fight off her siblings. This is helped by her atomic mastery being something she is especially creative with, due to being knowledgeable in chemistry and molecular structures since she was a kid, to the point where she could help her babysitter with his chemistry homework. This quickly raised her into the ranks of groups such as Teen Team and made her a prime candidate for the replacement Guardians of the Globe. Being skilled and creative is a large part of Atom Eve's identity as a fighter with the limitless options atomic manipulation gives her. This versatility and creative thinking allows her to keep up with her physically stronger foes. She has matched plenty of incredibly skilled Viltrumites in her time such as Conquest, who survived the original culling of the Viltrumites and is regarded as one of the most skilled. Eve also has plenty of experience in fighting wars from small-scale Flaxans to the large threat of the Viltrumite Empire. Meaning she knows how to take on large battles and drawn out fights.

Gwen Tennyson

Gwen Tennyson has been fighting off numerous threats with her cousin Ben Tennyson ever since she was a young girl. She had a natural talent for magic from her early experiences fighting various foes, which eventually led to her becoming proficient with her mana powers and later on, her true Anodite Powers. She uses her abilities to outwit and outmaneuver more powerful opponents, making her a formidable force in any conflict because of her intelligence and agility, the former of which has been taken note of by Argit, who said Gwen is a natural at deception (14:50), and is even stated to have strong intuition/prediction skill (8:00). She has demonstrated her resilience under stressful circumstances by holding her own against formidable foes like Vilgax or a Hyper Charged Kevin Levin using her strength and various spells in a strategic manner. And when it comes to her magic and spell prowess, she’s been able to use spells despite being severely depowered due to her extensive knowledge of spells from Charmcaster’s spellbook (19:12)

By the time Gwen was 15, she had already mastered several forms of martial arts, a skill she had been honing since she was 10, if not earlier, being able to beat someone in judo (6:02), and later became a practitioner of Taekwondo (0:23). She later states that she did martial arts for up to 9 years (18:29) Which let her keep up with Tetramands in hand-to-hand combat. Her intense dedication to physical combat, combined with her natural magical abilities, made her a versatile and dangerous fighter, showing many acrobatics mid-fight (3:18). Additionally, she excelled in her Plumbers training, undergoing training by Magister Hulka, the most decorated Plumber of all time, capable of one-shotting Plumber cadets (13:51), and she scored a 98% in the Plumber academy overall (21:04), making her at the top of her class.

Gwen Tennyson

Spellbook/Grimoire

Previously owned by Charmcaster, Gwen kept it as a souvenir on their summer road trip in the classic series. Gwen still studies from it to this day and can summon and use it on the fly during battle. It does not handicap her usage of magic, just helps her when needed. This also means any spells we have seen Charmcaster use throughout the series can be used by Gwen as well. All spells will be listed in the abilities section.

Charmcaster’s Bag

In the episode “Third Time’s a Charm", After Charmcaster is defeated and transmuted into a totem. She is trapped inside the bag, which Gwen ends up keeping for herself. Gwen also has prior experience using the magical items within the bag back in the classic series when she and Charmcaster switched bodies.

The magic items in this bag include:

Staff of Ages

The Staff of Ages is a large source of eldritch power. It is able to amplify the abilities of any magic user who is powerful enough to wield it. The staff merely needs to be raised and pointed in order to activate without any manual casting. As stated by Hex, only “master magicians” are able to use the staff, which Gwen somewhat disproves when she wields and uses it back when she was 10 and just learning about magic. Although it could have activated due to her being made of magic itself.

Formerly owned by Hex and then Charmcaster, guess who owns it by the end of the series? You guessed it, Gwen. Who once again has had prior experience using this staff in the classic series and has most recently used it in her latest fight against Charmcaster. Any spells Hex and Charmcaster have performed using this staff can be performed by Gwen as well.

The staff is also extremely durable. It is able to survive destructive spells, can redirect mana disks and cut straight through mana constructs. The staff is also strong enough to take a direct hit from Cannonbolt rolling at high speeds and smack him away like a baseball. It is also powerful enough to crack buildings in half.

The wielder of the staff is able to instantly call it to their hand in which the staff will fly to its user. It can also be summoned when needed. Charmcaster has also been seen to carry it in her bag.

Spells include:

Beth-mordo-natta: Fires powerful beams of fire. Charm of fire can amplify the spell.

Mana Blasts

Lightning Blasts

Light Beams

Power Nullification Blasts: Charmcaster tried to drain Gwen’s powers with this attack. (12:27)

Charms of Bezel

Charms of Bezel | Ben 10 Wiki | Fandom

Six magical talismans which grant the wielder a wide pool of mystical powers and abilities depending on the charm. The final Charm being the Keystone of Bezel which increases the other Charms’ abilities ten times over. Eons ago the sorcerer Bezel created the charms in his quest for magical power. Due to the countless years of the charms being destroyed and recreated, the veil of reality that separates the main dimension from Legerdomain, the dimension where all magic in the universe flows from. The barrier between both realities was weakened so much that other magic-using humans/beings like Gwen, Hex, and Charmcaster can tap into the power of Legerdomain which amps their power even further. This weakening between realms eventually allowed them to enter the realm without the need to summon/find The Door to Anywhere. In Omniverse, Gwen acquired all of the charms and kept them in Charmcaster’s bag. She is seen wearing the Charm of Telekinesis in her Anodite form.

The Charms are:

  • Charm of Luck: Grants the wielder supernaturally good luck. It causes anything and everything to go their way, but only if there’s that possibility of it happening in the first place. Makes all of the wielder’s endeavors succeed in a positive outcome. Any opponents nearby will suffer from increased misfortune.

  • Charm of Reincarnation: Returns its host to life, recovers them from physical wounds/injuries, and is able to regain the user’s consciousness if they were unconscious after a short period of time.

  • Charm of Fire: Grants the user pyrokinesis. (Magically generating, blasting, and manipulating fire telekinetically)

  • Charm of Telekinesis/Levitation: Grants the wielder the ability to fly at incredible speeds. Grants the user telekinetic control/manipulation over several objects/people all at once. It even works on mana. (13:06)

  • Charm of Electricity: Grants the wielder electrokinesis. (Creating, generating, controlling, and manipulating all forms of electrical energy)

  • The Keystone of Bezel: Increases all of the user’s natural powers/abilities, and skills. Amplifies the power of all the charms tenfold.

Plumber Badge

The Plumber Badge is a standard issue device used by the Plumbers, an intergalactic police force spanning across the galaxy. Gwen, Kevin, and eventually Ben gain them after proving their worth and becoming fully deputized Plumbers.

Features of the badge include:

  • Location detection: Can create a holographic map that can pinpoint locations, people, and other badges.

  • Video Feed: The badge has a two way communication feed, can communicate with Plumber HQ, and provide video feed.

  • Universal Translator: Self-Explanatory

  • Radiation Detection: Self-Explanatory

  • Extranet Access: Gwen is able to access the Extranet through the badge. The Extranet can access any database on Earth and can provide information about specific people and entities.

  • Weapon Enhancement: Can connect to technology and enhance it such as when Kevin put it on a Forever Knight gun, enhancing it’s firepower and changing it’s color scheme

  • Electronic Lock Override: Self-Explanatory

  • Plumber Override: Used to override/deactivate commands on Plumber tech.

  • Self-Destruct: Self-Explanatory

Plumber Items

  • Plumber Suit: A Suit all Plumbers wear which allows Gwen to breathe in space and underwater… she has her forcefields why would she need that? But besides that, Kevin upgraded her and Bens to be able to deliver neuroshock pulsers whenever they are unable to use their powers meanwhile inside the suit.

  • Laser Gun: Take a wild guess on what it shoots.

  • Mark 12 Techadorian Multiblaster: A Plumber's best and only friend! It's a simple sci fi esc blaster as you’d expect which can fire with the power of 3 Petawatts. Gwen also has pretty good aim with them.

  • Nuclear Fusion Grenades: Sci-Fi grenades, which very much live up to their name of being ‘’Nuclear’’ as these things can blow up an entire Plumber's academy Ship or the Hyperspace Jump Gate. The grenade’s explosions can be as large as a planet as shown when Ultimate Echo Echo propelled the explosion into space.

  • Propulsion Unit: Allows the wearer to propel through bodies of water.

Abilities

Atom Eve

Subatomic Manipulation

By far Eve’s most notable ability, her subatomic manipulation. She can see and manipulate any atom on a molecular level, with enough concentration even allowing her to even create completely new forms of matter on a molecular scale. She utilizes this by many means of offense, defense, and general uses in her life. There are many examples of her creativity with her powerset so to list them all off…

Flight

There are many cases of this so we’ll keep it brief. Atom Eve has the ability of flight, where she can soar around in the air alongside her fellow heroes. She does this via lowering the density of the air around her, lifting her off of the ground and far above in the air. She can also do this in space presumably by lowering her own density.

Transmutation

By proxy of having subatomic manipulation, Eve also has the ability to transfer atoms into different atoms, most often used to change out of her clothes and into her superhero outfit. Basically a long winded form of transmutation, which Eve has utilized as…

Telekinesis

Eve can use telekinesis to bend, lift, crush, and restrain objects to her will… kinda pointless when she can just make anything but sure.

Elemental Manipulation

Along with her control over objects, Eve has full power over the very elements themselves with the likes of air, plants, ground, and even electricity.

Energy Manipulation

As stated prior with her Subatomic Manipulation, Eve can create constructs of energy and even fire blasts of it potent enough to burn off experienced Viltrumite skin and blast back the likes of a very experienced Invincible. She can also manipulate her energy in a variety of ways, such as energy tethers to others, swarms of projectiles, balls of energy, energy waves, and energy spheres.

Force-Fields

Eve can conjure up force-fields and shields to protect herself or others from oncoming attacks, which can block energy attacks from Killcannon and cushion Eve from falling great heights

Empowerment

After Invincible had been hit by the Scourge Virus, he lost his powers and was about the same as any other human… that is until Eve and Mark had sex one day and his powers were restored. Answered the question of can anybody match her freak?

Mind Manipulation

By affecting the cells and chemicals within people’s brains, Eve can alter people’s minds and personalities to become entirely different people.

Stunflower

As stated in the perk upgrade image above, Stunflower creates a perfume cloud that reduces accuracy from an opponent.

Regeneration/Resurrection

Eve has regeneration to the level of completely reforming her limbs after they had been torn off. As well as restoring herself and others to full health when faced against fatal wounds.

And after being punched through the stomach by Conquest, Eve resurrected herself to full health and stronger than ever (this did have a side effect of making her transmutation a little strange). She also could resurrect her body after dying of old age, making her basically immortal.

Resistances

There is none.

Gwen Tennyson

Mana Manipulation

Mana is the hidden mystic life energy that surrounds all living things and is the source of magic itself. It is multidimensional (4:33), permeates all of nature and is found in everything from living beings to plants.(Except for Ectonurites) Not only does this mean Gwen can use magic, but Gwen is able to twist, alter, and control mana in any way she sees fit, from walls of energy (18:37), to energy domes. Thanks to her years of studying and being literally made of Mana, Gwen has become a powerhouse in her own right next to her cousin Ben. Mana has many applications such as:

Mana Constructs

Throughout the various series, Gwen has created a ton of constructs using her mana, both for offensive and defensive means. These constructs are strong enough to grapple with some of Ben’s aliens such as Big Chill (17:55), and can be shaped into a variety of weapons that are used for combat. Many notable examples include:

Mana Absorption

A natural ability given to her by her anodite heritage, Gwen is capable of harnessing the mana of those around her. Even working on plant life. She has only demonstrated this once in base form while she was under the control of Dagon, although this ability should be further amplified in her Anodite form (see later for details).

Flight/Levitation

Gwen showcases the ability to fly and levitate in the air. That’s the power, not really much to it.

Force-Fields

Gwen can create barriers around herself and others strong enough to block lasers (1:35) and electricity (13:19), fire (2:48), take a kick from Atomix, which launches them into space, shield from shockwaves caused by Humungousaur (20:14), block ice from Big Chill (18:02), Vilgax’s eye beams (11:56), a sound wave grenade (7:45)

Healing

Gwen, with both specific spells and her ability over matter, possesses the ability to heal injuries of others. Albeit taking some time to do so. She was capable of healing Kevin after his mana was drained by Darkstar (1:20). This magic can also work on technological life forms, albeit it is more difficult to do so (8:59).

Mental Abilities

Gwen’s connection to the mana energy field allows her to access telepathic abilities, and can affect the mind in a variety of ways due to being connected to their mana. Many abilities she has include:

Clairvoyance

Gwen has the ability to locate anything across space and dimensions using mana, and even view said events happening in real time (1:38). This ability also allows her to see what is happening at any location, no matter how long it's been since she's last detected their mana (8:25). Some of her notable feats using this ability are as follows:

Dimensional Vortex/Doorway Creation

Gwen is able to casually create dimensional portals to either BFR opponents, or to create a doorway between dimensions to help someone escape. Anodites like Gwen can also Interdimensionally space warp multiple beings to anywhere they want at will, and their size can vary, and can be as small as a see-through hole (3:50). Gwen can also just create portals in general to anywhere she sees fit, and sustain portals between places like the Null Void and Earth (21:16).

Durability Negation

Gwen is able to fire a burst of energy to expand at the molecular level to affect a Null Void gate.

Spells/Magic

Mana | Ben 10 Wiki | Fandom

Mana and magic basically go hand in hand in the Ben 10 verse. All magic is powered by mana and its strength is dependent on how much mana the user has access to. For Gwen being entirely made up of mana, aka magic, theoretically means she has an unlimited supply. As Charmcaster put it: “Kevin wasn’t kidding, you’re filled with mana. It’s so unfair. I worked my butt off for my power and you were born made of magic.” As stated in Omniverse, magic has no rules or even specific logic. As long as you’re a good wizard, you can do just about anything. Gwen also doesn’t have to recite the spells out loud. She can just think and it will happen.

Telekinesis

One of Gwen’s earliest powers when she was first using magic, allowing her to move anything with her mind with a variety of uses. Even early on, Gwen could use it and either apply enough pressure to cause machinery to explode or simply cause explosions at will. The names of her telekinetic spells and what they do go as followed:

Meton weights: Pins targets to walls via Telekinesis (10:42).

Retov Alagoria: Telekinetically moves objects towards the caster’s target (11:11).

Autem Forcems: Telekinetically moves multiple objects at once.

Secraf Sofum: Launches multiple objects at targets (11:11).

Ortus expositus: Gwen used it to levitate a book. (0:47)

Scribo in incendia: Gwen used this spell to make a pen write letters by itself (5:52). It can start writing so fast that it can start a fire if the caster is distracted. Early on, Gwen could use it and either apply enough pressure to cause machinery to explode or simply cause explosions at will.

Appendage-aregoria: Used to paralyze the target and levitate them in the air. The spell will wear off as soon as something touches the target.

Statua: Immobilizes multiple targets. Is an AOE spell that traps targets in suspended animation.

Elemental Manipulation

Gwen’s most common application of magic is to manipulate various elements, with a wide range of control for whatever uses she needs. These can range from fire, cold, metal, time, lightning, and many others. Here are many of her spells

Teewat ligara & Venetis Icatis Ixenis: Creates/conjures a tornado (15:30) that can redirect attacks.

Turbo: General spell used to summon wind (4:15). Gwen has used this spell in multiple ways.

Incendia absum & SuperTheca: A spell that extinguishes fire. (19:33)

Tempestas serrectum: Summons a great amount of wind.
Meena goh: Pyrokinesis. Creates a beam of fire (5:52).

Fallum Quarca Daminigan: Forced open a door (9:37).

Kalecky erupt: Makes rocks rise from the ground (12:15).

Sinu Invisibus: Pulls rocks from the ground and launches them at target.

Reanima verdanica: Chlorokinesis. Used to cause flowers to sprout from the intended target/area (21:52)

Awakatelo foligeto: Powerful spell that animates plants (8:31).

Mercuclus Verditis: Creates a beam of electricity (12:09), powerful enough to one-shot Ultimate Echo Echo (17:07).

Tempestas impetus: Calls down a bolt of lightning from the sky. With a spell from Gwen’s Grimoire Darkstar generated a massive storm and explosion that could open a gateway to Ledgerdomain (01:32)

Aquata Risa Spackwata: Was used to create waterspouts under a target, suspending them in the air.

Camouphlet Vaporis: Creates a huge amount of steam to be used as cover.

Animo cataractam: An animation spell which creates a water monster from any nearby body of water. The creature will immediately fight against the caster’s enemies.

Trihant turba cum panis et circensum: Pyrotechnic Projection: Creates fireworks.

Quis quondam eram affictus. Iam vicis mos redintegro. Quis venit pro, mos nusquam esse: Chronokinesis. Allows the caster to travel back in time. Originally needed to be set up with candles and chalk, but Gwen was able to use it via reciting it (19:38). When Gwen travels back in time, all of time is at a stand still except for the caster’s past self and current self. Time remains frozen until the original caster returns to the present. Gwen can also reverse time (5:48).

Technology Manipulation

Mana can also short-circuit (20:50) technology or completely shut it off. Spells include:

Discombobulus Mechano: Causes technology to short circuit. Uses this spell on the Omnitrix, forcing Ben to transform into Upgrade, though she meant to time him out (1:34)

Mechanae discombobulus: Disables technology, disabled a Forever Knight’s tank (0:22). Gwen combines Mechanae discombobulus with the Omnitrix and the Galvanic Mechamorph Warsuit to revert Ben’s parents back to human (4:44).

Reanima dynamica: Technology Control, put 15 security spells on her house (9:18)

Discombobulus negatum: A negating spell. Used to temporarily negate a target’s powers. Uses this spell on a Galvanic Mechamorph, negating his powers temporarily and forcing him to teleport them out of the Omnitrix (3:41).

Summoning

These spells are used when Gwen needs to summon something to her, whether it be an object, or something to fight with, or something to fight for her. Spells include:

Ortus: Spell that pulls a small object towards the caster.

Meus Manus Manus: Charmcaster used it to telekinetically summon the Staff of Ages into her hand.

Silicis miles suscitatio & Vita: Summons several rock monsters to fight for the caster. (20:09)

Ab-ri du-an pad libor digir kun gukin: Used to summon the Dagon. It requires immense amounts of mana, requiring the use of the Alpha Rune. (18:06)

Via est porro. Via est prolixus. Illic est haudcaput capitis vel solum. Planto oriens perspicuus. Lux lucis via. Ostendo occultus ianua & Via est porro. Via est prolixus. Caput capitis vel solum. Planto oriens perspicuus. Lux lucis via. Ostendo occultus ianua:

Summons the Door to Anywhere. (1:32)

Cabals And Stragatens, Flots and Floys. Powerful Sorcerers Turned into Toys. The Anchient, The Classic, Once Proud But Now Tragic. Come Bring Me The Soul Of The Father Of Magic. I Summon The Mighty Bezel!: Summons Bezel. (14:37)

Photokinesis

Gwen can cast spells that brighten the room and use light for a variety of effects, such as:

Emocha Objectia: Projects a beam of energy, can harm Vilgax (16:54)

Adificio potentia: The caster can shoot multiple beams of mana from their hands.

Gir igi-nu: Makes the caster’s hand glow with white light. Can be used to repel creatures. Gwen can use this spell to illuminate a cave (9:21) and even make telekinetic orbs that illuminate light (12:37).

Illuminatus: Creates a ball of light for illumination (3:15).

Aserbis: Extinguishes any nearby light

Power/Spell Nullification

Gwen can temporarily negate a target’s powers, or a magic user’s spells that are cast onto other people. Some spells for this include:

Discombobulous Negatum: She was able to cast a spell on Big Chill that made him struggle to use his phasing ability (18:14), and casts a binding spell on Addwaitya to prevent him from using his powers (10:08). Used a spell that stripped away Darkstar’s mana (13:45) and disable Azmuth’s holographic cloak (1:01). Used Discombobulous Negatum to negate the Galvanic Mechamorph/Retalliator from using its powers.(3:37) It also seems that the spell can force the target’s body to activate one of its abilities since the Retalliator was forced to teleport them out of the Omnitrix while still being affected by the spell.

Inspira Disparia: Liberation. Used to break containment spells.

Tartus motus: Greatly reduces the target's speed. Used it on Terraspin.

Liberatio: Used to de-immobilize a target. (9:59)

Abrogo necterendum: Makes mana handcuffs disappear.

Combibo Potentia: An energy siphon counter spell. Used it to free Paradox from binds placed on him by Eon.

Contego: A triangle is drawn in the air which drains a target’s powers. Spell has variations for protection and sealing doors.

Reverto maeus opsmihi: Power absorption. A spell that drains the mana (life force) out of the target.

Containment

Spells meant to contain a target by any means necessary, whether it be restraining them, affecting their state of being, or immobilizing them. Spells include:

Necte artes magicas: Conjures mana handcuffs on the target’s arms. (10:14)

Imperium in mentum: De-transforming/Containment spell. Gwen used this spell to transform Ultimate Humungousaur back into Ben, hoping it would allow Ben’s personality to take control of his body once more. Captures target in a forcefield after the spell.

Somnus: Puts target to sleep.

Facio Gravis: Increases the target’s weight to the point of making them too heavy to move.

Statua: An AOE spell that immobilizes multiple targets in suspended animation.

Appendage-aregoria: Used to paralyze the target and levitate them in the air. The spell will wear off as soon as something touches the target.

Teleportation

Spells used by Gwen to get herself or others from one place to another, whether forcible or not, such as when she teleported herself and company to Mt. Rushmore (13:22). These spells are:

Abeo Exorior: The caster generates a mana dome around the desired targets, causing them and the dome to disappear, then reappearing in another location. (2:00).

Eo recedentia: Teleportation.

Estote quasi integumentum. Imatari proximum!: Can forcibly teleport the target (10:34).

Exies: Forcibly teleports multiple targets to the caster’s desired location (10:31).

Portalus Projectum: Creates a mana orb and can fire it at a surface creating a portal to enter through (1:55).

Transmutation/Transfiguration

OVS8E5 Third Time's a Charm | Ben 10 Omniverse Wiki | Fandom

Gwen has several spells that can transmute or transfigure others. She can even turn herself into a dragon. While Gwen has not done so herself, Charmcaster has. Gwen having a Charmcaster's book and proving that she surpasses her in magical knowledge means she can more than likely do the same spell. Same goes for other spells such as:

Transformatio Dayesye: Alchemy/Transfiguration. The caster creates a circular mana shield. Anything that passes through the circle is transfigured into flower petals.

Vaktusa Magnus Stupritrato: Transforms the caster into a dragon.

Tabesco caix:  A spell that can turn beings and even light into a liquid form.

Reptillicus: Transformation. Used to turn a staff into a snake.

Animation/Reanimation

Mostly used by Gwen’s (fr)enemies, Hex and Charmcaster, Gwen can use multiple spells to bring objects to life to protect the user. Anything as small as silverware or as large as a giant smoothie mascot.

Bellum Ocorro Mazzura: Was used to make silverware come to life. The silverware is able to walk and attack opponents.

Oktoom: Used to animate a car to attack someone.

Oktoom eradico: Spell that can animate a giant sculpture. Charmcaster used it to animate the Mr. Smoothie mascot.

Punctum contego: Moves objects to block a target.

Darkela-vortium: Shown animating stone statues

Palatnica sorensay: Reanimation. Used to reanimate dead squids

Miscellaneous Spells

These are spells that don’t fall in any particular category, but have been used by Gwen or other mana users throughout the series, ranging from sealing people into dimensions, causing illusions, or supercharging Ben’s aliens like Chromastone (9:26). Some spells include:

Portallus projectum: Creates a portal (7:03).

Eradico: Trapping/Exploding. This spell has two variations. It can release energy beams from the user’s hands to encase the target in a mana sphere (5:35) or it can make the target explode from the inside out just by looking at them and chanting the name of the spell.

Ostendo specialis: Gwen uses a spell of revelation on the Hands of Armageddon. It’s supposed to reveal secrets. The spell instead lets the trio look into the Race Against Time reality and Ultimate Ben’s recent fight with Eon.

Tuum Manifestis Occulta: Decoding. A spell that reveals a message hidden in writing. (5:12)

Corona: Trapping. Spell that creates a plate of mana to fall on top of target.

Song of the Elder Signs: Offensive spell. Creates mana spikes that sprout from the ground in a line towards a target. The spikes manifest in a rhythmic tune (17:54).

Invocation of the Wandering Eye: Illusion spell. The caster creates several physical duplicates of themselves (18:10). If struck by enough force, the duplicates will disappear (19:34).

Botigs Zaborito Carpis Nebegear Gais Liphan Intruders Utien: Exorcism. A very powerful spell that needs a bit of preparation. After creating a magic circle, the caster can perform the spell. They say the incantation and mana beams will fire out, hitting everyone who is possessed and force the intruders to leave their vessels.

Transformatio Dayesye: Alchemy/Transfiguration. The caster creates a circular mana shield. Anything that passes through the circle is transfigured into flower petals.

Vaktusa Magnus Stupritrato: Transforms the caster into a dragon.

Exige animas omnibus: Removes the soul from a target.

Reverto meus ops mihi: Drains the mana out of it’s target

Transfera identica: Body Switch. Used to swap the bodies of two targets.

Notgnihsaw Amikay: Vanishing. Vanishes armor off of a person/being. A powdered substance is required to cast the spell. (Which Gwen has access to.)

Restituo navitas. Vis penetro intus. Vigoratus per vita.: Restoration. A spell that alters the target’s body. Gwen used it to restore Darkstar to his peak human form.

Ostendo specialis: Shows the abilities of an artifact, Shows secrets.

Twista combititus: Creates a yellow aura to increase a person’s strength. It can also protect the caster by creating a giant metal snake from nearby debris.

Amorous Infecti: Love Charm. Causes all nearby animals to fall in love with the target.

Tara tremmo eradico: Dismantling spell. Dismantles and launches pieces of an object.

Resistances

Biological Manipulation: Anodites lack DNA, and Gwen was immune to the Forever Knight’s DNA scanner. Was unaffected from falling in the Codon Stream (9:14-9:48), which normally mutates living things like Vilgax with its bio-energy.

Matter Manipulation: Even if Gwen’s human form is destroyed, it is basically a shell housing her Anodite form within since it is made of pure energy. Anodites can also re-create their physical body in any way they see fit.

Energy Absorption: Gwen’s shield could block a blast from Michael Morningstar for an extended period of time, blocking out his energy draining effect (15:17)

Power Nullification: Her force-fields blocked blast from Charmcaster’s staff that was meant to depower her and says it won’t work because she’s gotten better at using magic (12:27)

Radiation Manipulation: Has tanked two Radiation beams straight to the face from P’andor (NRG’s DNA donor) (12:43) and was fine.

Age Manipulation: Mana shields can block time rays which can age Ben's aliens to dust.

Transmutation: Gwen’s mana dome prevented her, Ben, Kevin, and arguably Sir George from turning into Esoterica. If Gwen is transmuted, she can use her magic to return to normal or even astral project into her Anodite form to continue fighting.

Law Manipulation: Anodites are beings made of pure Mana, and Mana is the hidden mystical life energy that permeates all of nature, and is the substance of all magic. This was mentioned again as they said that Ledgerdomain is basically made out of mana and the source of all magic in the Universe, and Magic has no rules.

Time Stop: Gwen freezes time and her past self was unaffected by it (5:48)

Limited Mind Control: Could temporarily fight off Dagon’s control, when others were immediately enslaved by him (13:03)

Anti-Matter: She along with Ben and Kevin could exist in Anur Phaetos, an unstable glitch in reality made of Anti-Matter, with no long lasting effects. This can include additional resistances if we account for the special properties of anti-matter exhibited in Secret Saturdays, which is confirmed to exist in the Ben 10 Universe. Such as:

  • Additional Law Manipulation: Can remove laws of physics, such as making friction no longer exist. [SS s1e12 2:00 - 2:31]

  • Additional Matter Manipulation + Disassembly: All solids around him turn into liquids [SS s1e12 3:58 - 4:04 + 4:50 - 5:02 + 8:08 - 8:40] and do so at will to trap opponents into the floor. [SS s1e12 17:56 - 18:04 + 18:37 - 18:52] Objects around him are broken up into their constituent parts. [SS s1e12 15:45 - 15:50]

  • Gravity Manipulation: Reversed gravity. [SS s1e12 4:50 - 5:02]

  • Reality Warping: Antimatter passively undoes the very fabric of the universe, warping the laws of physics. [SS s1e12 8:08 - 8:40 + s1e23 10:33 - 10:56] The Earth merged with outer space somehow. [SS s1e12 12:26 - 12:38]

  • Size Manipulation: Made the sun in the sky grow bigger. [SS s1e12 17:37 - 17:39]

  • Additional Transmutation: Turned the dirt floor into a flower bed to prevent fall damage. [SS s1e12 19:00 - 19:15] Turned glass into bubbles. [SS s1e23 18:44 - 18:48]

  • Chaos Manipulation: Antimatter passively throws the whole world into chaos so severe it tears apart the very universe. [SS s1e23 10:33 - 10:56]

  • Additional Time Manipulation: Passively slowed down time, though the Saturday’s weren’t affected. [SS s1e23 18:30 - 18:44]

  • Additional Biology Manipulation: Gave fish the ability to breathe out of water and fly. [SS s1e23 18:49 - 18:59]

  • Light Manipulation: Made the color wheel change so things became rainbow coloured. [SS s1e23 18:49 - 18:59]

  • Existence Erasure: Zapped Argost “out of existence”, [SS s2e10 18:45 - 19:37 + OV s4e1 5:28 - 5:37] with it also erasing the Kur power within him [SS s2e10 21:27 - 21:33] which exists as his soul. [SS s2e5 5:06 - 5:16]

Forms

Atom Eve

Unrestricted Form

When at her lowest point of extreme stress, Eve can achieve her full power beyond the limits of her mental blocks. Seeing, touching, tasting every little piece of matter around her and having the power to rearrange the very cells and chemicals that make up sentient creatures. She uses this power to change people’s memories and forget who she is, and has been stated to be omnipotent without any inhibition.

Gwen Tennyson

Anodite Form

How strong would you say an Anodite is compared to Atomix? : r/Ben10

Gwen’s true form is that of an Anodite. An alien race made out of pure energy, who are naturally adept at manipulating mana, Gwen owing a bit of her raw natural magic talent to her heritage. Gwen used to only be able to remain in this form for brief periods of time as she risked losing her humanity. However, by the time of Omniverse, she has learned how to access the form casually. Additionally, it is stated by Verdona that destroying Gwen’s physical body will unleash her Anodite form. Gwen uses her Anodite form throughout the majority of the battles she’s in during Omniverse.

In this form she has stated that she thinks she could single handedly end the Highbreed invasion, and with full confidence said she was going to destroy Ben’s sentient Ultimate transformations. Including the likes of Ultimate Humungousaur, Ultimate Swampfire, and Ultimate Echo Echo. The Dagon, an extra dimensional being, even stated that Gwen was the most powerful being in her world while she was in a cave with Lacubra Vilgax, Ben, and Sir George who at the time wielded Ascalon, a reality warping sword which he used to kill and seal the Dagon long ago. In her Anodite form, Gwen obtains the following powers:

Scaling

Atom Eve

Invincible

Mark Grayson, commonly known as Invincible, has been with Eve for a big chunk of her adventures and they have fought numerous foes together like Conquest or Universa. After losing his powers, Mark regained them with the help of Eve’s own powers, further cementing that she should scale to her boyfriend.

Omni-Man

Another viltrumite and her future father in law, Nolan has thrown hands with his son and fought alongside him on several occasions, often performing around the same level. Since Eve scales to Mark it makes sense that she would also scale to Omni-Man.

Guardians of the Globe/Coalition of Planets

Her fellow teammates and predecessors, The Guardians of the Globe are considered the best heroes on Earth. Eve is among the strongest of the group and should be capable of performing any feats that her companions are capable of.

Omnipotus (Debatable)

Considering Cecil didn’t consider Omnipotus to be as large a threat as the likes of Conquest, who we established Eve scales to, it stands to reason that the heroes of Invincible would be able to scale to him. Dinosaurus also infamously one-shot him, who scales below Thragg.

Gwen Tennyson

Ben Tennyson

Gwen fights many enemies with her cousin, Ben Tennyson (and on occasion they’ve fought each other, in more serious manners and petty squabbles). Many of them are shown to be relative to or even a threat to the latter. So it’s reasonable enough to scale her to Ben’s feats. Additionally, Dagon stated that Gwen is the strongest being in her universe and we see support for this when she easily overpowers Ben twice. Obviously this is not taking into account Alien X but it still provides enough reason to give her scaling to a majority of Ben’s vast extraterrestrial arsenal.

Kevin Levin

Gwen’s boyfriend and Number 1 car enjoyer in the universe. Similar to Ben, Kevin has also been a major part in their trio, fighting numerous foes and even Gwen and Ben at times (he gets those angry phases), and Kevin has even noted himself on how hard Gwen can hit him even when armored (15:11-22) Gwen wasn’t a joke either, she was giving Ultimate Kevin (one of his strongest versions) a rough fight while heavily holding back and not even using her Anodite form, only losing because of Kevin outmaneuvering her using Ben’s alien powers he had acquired. So it isn’t that difficult to say that she will upscale him.

Vilgax

Vilgax. Ben Tennyson’s arch-nemesis and the deadliest octopus this side of the galaxy. Gwen has fought characters like Ultimate Kevin and Vilgax himself (most notably in his Lucubra form). For further support to this, Dagon’s statement applies to Vilgax as well as he was present there during it. Therefore, Gwen would scale to the feats performed by Mr Tyrant Octopus.

Ascalon & Sir George (see Before the Verdict)

Gwen has had a few encounters with Sir George and Ascalon. She was able to tank a direct blast from Ascalon (4:10), push him back with an attack (17:18), and has fought several characters that compare to Sir George, including most notably Lucubra Vilgax, and Ultimate Humungousaur not only that, when she was under Dagon’s mind control she casually overpowered George in her Anodite form. Additionally, Dagon’s statement of Gwen being the most powerful being in the universe should most definitely include Sir George, due to Dagon’s intimate experience with the Forever Knight.

Ultimate Aggregor

Gwen fought Ultimate Kevin and put up a good fight against him while completely holding back as she wasn’t trying to do any serious damage and she didn’t use her anodite form. Ultimate Kevin easily defeated Aggregor and took his powers for himself. This means Gwen should definitely scale to Aggregor by this point in the series.

Albedo

Ben’s Doppelganger and self proclaimed ‘Prime Thinker’. Ben and the gang have a history fighting him and his Ultimate aliens. Gwen has defeated multiple Ultimate Aliens by Ultimate Alien and was superior to them by the events of Omniverse, earlier while in the Ultimatrix claimed she would kill every single Ultimate Alien, and should further upscale in her Anodite form.

Other Mana Users/Sorcerers

Gwen is not the only sorceress in the universe, but she is the strongest. Not only has she matched a multitude of fellow mana users and on top of that, you guessed it, Dagon’s statement can easily be applied to other sorcerers, as he was well aware of all magic. Even in her early years, Gwen was capable of keeping up with her grandmother Verdona, who Gwen herself admitted was tougher and more experienced.

The Dagon (Debatable, see Before the Verdict)

Despite being an Eldritch Monster beyond the prime dimension, Dagon was defeated by Sir George and The Ascalon. In his second attempt at conquering Gwen's dimension it got absorbed into Vilgax and became his power source, only to get defeated once again by Ascalon. Given that we know that Gwen is stronger than Ascalon, it only makes sense that she should scale to Dagon.

Weaknesses

Atom Eve

While Eve is one of the most powerful heroes in the franchise, she isn’t without her weaknesses. As mentioned before she has mental inhibitors which halt her from being able to alter living mass, has deep mental trauma from her families (both her parents, creator, and test tube siblings), and had incredible remorse from being gone from Mark so long that she had to have an abortion. She of course can also overtax her powers and fall unconscious or cause her powers to fluctuate, and she cannot manipulate living matter due to these mental blocks.

Gwen Tennyson

Can You Explain These Plot Holes and Inconsistencies relating to Magic/Mana? : r/Ben10

Gwen’s powers have been absorbed by characters such as Darkstar and Charmcaster, the latter of whom stole all of her power down to her very essence and was even able to briefly kill her. However that took a very powerful magical conduit that absorbed the entirety of her Anodite being while also being in Legerdomain. Even in a weakened state or if her powers were fully absorbed, Gwen has managed to take her energy back and then some just as easily through sheer will and magical counterspells. Though this does not keep her safe from her mana being affected by technology designed to harness it, and her powers have been dampened by things like mana disruption grenades and cuffs from Inspector 13.

As for her tracking abilities, Gwen has trouble searching for things that are not alive (9:44), and struggles to find traces of someone in places with lots of technology. As far as her magic spells, certain spells that require massive amounts of energy can weaken her to the point of fainting, especially for something like a teleportation spell where the distance teleported is incredibly long.

Before The Verdicts

Omnipotus?

sigh

Ah yes everyone’s favorite topic to discuss whenever Invincible pops up. Long story short Omnipotus is a very powerful villain who has some insane statements of power such as destroying his universe, destroying a solar system and he faced off against our colorful cast of characters a few times. So what's the problem? Firstly his power is to absorb the energy from the destruction that he causes which increases his stats immensely. Because of this his stats fluctuate heavily with his first appearance being an instance where he was underpowered. His other appearance he was much stronger, having been chilling elsewhere for months restoring his power before Dinosaurus infamously one shots the guy. This leaves it up to a lot of speculation and debate about how close to his full power he was as we don't know how much energy he absorbed in that timeframe so it's a little tricky to nail down whether the cast should scale to him or not especially considering how Mark's first encounter with him went. Let’s lay it all out on the table for argument’s sake.

Although ironically rather minor in the grand scheme of Invincible, Omnipotus is a villain said to have destroyed his original universe, with the guidebook supporting this claim, along with the potential claim he has destroyed entire star systems. At a glance, this seems perfectly valid to determine his power, scale him to the highest tiers seeing as how Dinosaurus was able to kill him, and Eve should largely upscale by the end of the series.

There are a few problems with this scaling. First off, as said before, in his first appearance is when he is largely starved of any energy, and even then he suffers no real damage from the cast, only being defeated after being thrown into his old universe with nothing left to feed off of. While he does return later, far more energized and prepared, he mentions this feeding took him several months, and it is unknown how much of the universe he consumed in this time. Seeing as how the universe of Invincible is still intact and many planets spanning across the galaxies are relatively intact as well, it’s unlikely Omnipotus was able to consume a significant portion of said universe.

It is also stated Omnipotus was capable of laying waste to an entire star system, which would still be fairly better scaling for Eve all around. But in the same statement, it’s suggested his power destroys mainly through chain reactions, not necessarily all in one blow. He has no onscreen feats on a similar scale to support an immediate timeframe for draining the energy of the universe or star system, and most statements have suggested the opposite if anything.

Thus, it’s too capricious to lock down Omnipotus’ power to any real extent, especially when it’s suggested he cannot reach these cosmic levels of destruction all at once. However, for the sake of this blog we’re giving Eve the full benefit of the doubt and granting her full scaling to Omniputus at his peak because well…she’s gonna need all the help she can get.

Sun Disk Scaling?

(AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)

(Image unrelated)

We aren’t covering it.

It doesn’t matter and nothing changes.

All the ends suck (Legally, this a joke. There is just a lot of fights on which ones are right or wrong)

Go read a different blog.

It genuinely changes nothing and no matter what end we use this blog is going to get hung by the Death Battle community.

If you’re that stressed about a sun disk try and get some actual sun for once you greasy fuck.

So yeah, no sundisk.

(If you want a serious answer, we don’t really want to touch on the Sun Disk, due to there being multiple fights on what ends to use. For the sake of this debate the Sun Disk doesn’t actually matter on if you buy it or not, so we won’t be covering it back, sorry 💋)

The Ben 10 Cosmology

Just How Big is the Ben 10 Universe?

Ben 10’s outer space is stated to be “vast” and housing “infinite” star systems, nebulae. Housing many alternate dimensions with their own space-time continuums which exist within the universe. Given each timeline has at least 2 million alternate space-times. We opted to calculate certain feats based on this finite estimate of the universe; treating each dimension as its own universe-sized structure. Our observable universe has a radius of 46.508e+10 lightyears (4.4e+27 meters), whilst the unobservable universe has a radius range of 1.2e+13 lightyears (1.14e+29 meters) or 4.7e+33 lightyears (1.45e+49 meters), and so Ben’s universe has a much larger range.

Realistically, the amount of alternate space-times within a single timeline is infinite. Each already having its own flow of time, and endless size. We also know that timelines reside within the singular universe. Alongside many other massive structures. It is why seemingly “Universal” feats are placed on such a higher pedestal. With all things considered, we did not feel it necessary to turn this match-up into a Ben 10 Cosmology dump; meaning we limited certain feats to their finite-estimates.

FTL Speed In Ben 10

  1. Clarification on the Verse’s Speed

A plot point introduced in the UAF era of Ben 10 series by Grandpa Max is that light speed is very rare. Max is a very reliable person due to being THE best plumber and having a good know-how regarding the aliens so shouldn't this mean that neither Ben nor any other character are light speed? Well the answer is a lot more simple than this.

This plot point gets contradicted by numerous feats in the franchise, by various characters like Kevin, Tons of Ben’s aliens, Gwen, Verdona, and even miscellaneous aliens like the conductoids.

Even if you ignore calculations and rely purely on blatant feats, in Omniverse it was stated that the time beast was moving faster than light by Ben and Rook and Ben as Gravattack stopped it mid travel.

Another thing which debunks this argument is the existence of Tachyons. Tachyons are quantum particles which release Radiation as well as move through time itself and can allow people like Aggregor or The Highbreed to travel interstellar distances in mere minutes. 11 Year old Ben transformed into  Feedback and jumped in front of Max to protect him from Malware’s Tachyon blast after it was fired. To put the nail in the coffin for this argument, Grandpa Max's own words clearly say that it is “rare” and not impossible.

In short, this argument gets completely destroyed by the show’s own logic, feats performed by various characters, and Max's own statement. So ignoring consistent speeds that exceed light over a one off vague statement is entirely disingenuous.

  1. Infinite/Immeasurable Speed Ben 10?

You may have noticed that some speed feats have been labeled as potentially being in the infinite to Immeasurable speed range and it might have made you wonder whether or not this is legit.

The feats which we will be discussing have reached into the Infinite/Immeasurable speed range due to following the requirements for that speed tier due to the cosmology.

Let's get into detail over said feats.

  • Gwen scanning the universe

This is pretty easy to explain. Kevin lost his car and asked Gwen to search it and then she searched the entire universe and found it in legerdomain which has a different flow of time, pretty self explanatory. This gets into the infinite-immeasurable range as she has to have searched all of the infinite universe and its multitude of dimensions to find the car. Null void is not only endless/infinite in size but it is also Extra-dimensional.

  • Jetray traveling so fast  he enters the hyperspace

Jetray traveled fast enough to enter Hyperspace through his sheer speed, reaching his destination in an instant.

It is important to understand that at this moment Ben had never performed this feat before and only believed that he could do it “in theory” as he states in the scene, therefore this jump was solely due to his own speed.

A Hyperspace as described in Physics is any space which contains more than 3 spatial dimensions and thus it can allow someone to travel instantly across space.

So given that Ben himself states that he has to go into Hyperspace and then he does go into it using his speed, it should be reasonable to say that this is an Immeasurable speed feat.

  • Ultimate Kevin traveling from the Forge of Creation to Earth

The “Forge Of Creation” is the birthplace of the Celestialsapiens; Alien X’s Species. It is a realm considered “totally inaccessible” [UA s1e16 6:22 - 6:40] according to a guy who has “all space and time” within his reach [UA s2e10 19:11 - 19:18]. Being out of sync with all of time through a Chronal Randomization Barrier set by Paradox. To travel back to Earth, Ultimate Kevin must have crossed the Space-Beyond; a “nothingness” containing multiple universes which each have their own laws of physics, with Paradox explicitly stating that there is no geographical reference point & that you can’t access it via temporal travel.

  • Albedo travels to the Solar System

In Ben 10 Cosmic Storm, after spending a whole year and a day inside a cosmic storm to incubate a Toku’star dna molecule, Albedo decides to travel to earth to get revenge on Ben and to get the Potis Altiare, an ancient Galvan device which can drastically increase the power of anything.

The official marketing for the game claims that the threat (Albedo’s Way Big Form) came from the farthest reaches of Outer Space, and given the size of the Ben 10 universe even if Albedo took a whole year or more it will still be an Infinite speed feat.

  • Omnitrix protecting Ben from The Annhilarrgh

During the end of Ben’s Journey across Time and Timelines, he jumped into the White Void of Nothingness where Time, Space and Causality do not exist as it predates those concepts. There he was face to face with an Annhilarg explosion which could create his Entire Hypertimeline and at that moment, Omnitrix not only reacted to the explosion but also turned Ben into different aliens to save his life. It reacts fast enough to protect Ben from an Explosion which creates and expands into all of the infinite timelines of the Hypertimeline. That makes it reasonable enough to call this an Immeasurable speed feat.

  • Feedback blocks a Tachyon Beam

After Malware absorbed the Tachyon Cannon and became more powerful, he fired a beam of Tachyon towards grandpa Max and an 11 Year Old Ben transformed into Feedback, jumped in front of grandpa Max and then absorbed the blast after it was fired by Malware.

Dr Holiday confirmed that Tachyons can travel through time and there's more to it. Breach is a Four Armed EVO who can travel through time in the form of Tachyons and can even create portals across time or send someone across time.

So there's an argument to be that this feat is actually far higher than initially calculated, into the  incalculable speed range. (Feedback being the GOAT as usual)

 Dagon and Sir George Scaling?

The big question regarding Gwen’s scaling is how valid the Dagon and Sir George scaling is. In terms of scaling Gwen to Dagon and Sir George, the arguments are simple. Gwen herself has survived a blast from the sword and she’s fought people like Ultimate Humungosaur and Lucubra Vilgax, not only that, but while she was controlled by Dagon she beat George in a fight. Dagon also has his statement of Gwen being the most powerful being in the universe, which would include George. All of these point to her scaling.

But these aren’t a definitive yes. First, let’s look at her surviving the blast from George. During this encounter, George is holding back. At the start of the battle Ben turns into Fasttrack and gets knocked down by George, who says he’s “warning them.” (3:30) so he’s clearly not putting out his full power. He directly states he’s been “Going easy on you.” (5:00) Which confirms our suspicions. This then puts the other feats into question, such as his fight with Ultimate Humungosaur, which takes place before this moment. As for Lucubra Vilgax, Dagon himself states that Vilgax “refuses to use the power he’s given him.” (16:35). As for when Gwen is being controlled by the Dagon, a power-boost could likely have been given to her by the god. The Dagon statement about Vilgax refusing to use the power comes before he gets control over Gwen, implying she’s using his power. This would also explain away his statement of her being the most powerful being, as it happens in the same scene. She might not be the most powerful being in general, but is at the moment thanks to having the Dagon’s power. Why would she be more powerful than Vilgax, who has the power of Dagon? Is he calling himself weaker than Gwen? Is he stupid…?

Also, the seal that holds Dagon back is broken by Gwen, which could argue her scaling. But this is done while she’s mind controlled, so refer back to above. Not only that, but Vilgax had done significant damage to the seal (We can see the Dagon’s dimension by the time Ben and Sir. George appears and it has a visible crack) by the time she breaks it.

What About Gwen’s Anti-Feats?

(credit)

One thing that doesn’t really need to be addressed, but for the sake of discussion we will address Gwen’s “anti-feats”. On several occasions Gwen has “jobbed” to things she logically shouldn’t. Such as when she stopped by regular packing foam, threatened by a regular welding torch, fell down an elevator and broke her leg, and had her shields shattered by fodder tier characters. While these moments are funny to point out, they should not be used against Gwen’s scaling. Not just because the idea of such is inherently contradictory to the general conventions of versus debating where we take characters at their reasonable best, but also because most of these happened before Gwen had gained greater power, and she is known to actively hold back in most situations. And these moments are few and far between, she is far more shown to be a veritable powerhouse, so pinpointing the few moments of writer mistakes to downplay her is arbitrary, and would break the foundations of battle boarding in general.

Verdict

Stats

Being two of the most important and active deuteragonists of their respective series, Eve and Gwen end up scaling to a lot of the characters from their respective series by virtue of having fought with or against a good number of major characters in the series, or being comparable to other characters, namely the title protagonists, who do.

Eve, on the upper end of her limits, is consistently shown to be on the same level with Viltrumite-tier characters such as Universa, Allen, Viltrumite half-breeds, and her husband Mark himself, further cemented when her own powers amp Mark later in the series and make him stronger than ever. With this in mind, Eve by the end of Invincible should scale over feats such as Mark tackling Allen into the Moon (41.44 Teratons to 3.9 Exatons), Nolan stopping a Texas-sized meteor (409.70 Zettatons), and the Viltrumite trio’s feat of destroying Viltrum (911.4 Ronnatons), all of which are consistently in the Moon to Large Planetary ranges. Multiple aliens such as Allen and Viltrumites also demonstrate consistent intergalactic travel speed feats in relatively short timeframes, such as Nolan flying to the Virgo Supercluster at up to 3 billion c and a group of Viltrumites flying to Thraxa at 20 billion c. At most, we could give her scaling over Universa’s universe-crossing feat giving Eve scaling to a whopping 34 trillion c, and all of this goes without saying that Eve in her unrestricted state would scale far beyond all of this, being described as “omnipotent” by her creator, though keep in mind we don’t know the exact upper bounds of her unrestricted form.

All that being said, unfortunately Gwen Tennyson seems to surpass Atom Eve in every conceivable physical category. Scaling to feats done by Ben’s aliens alone such as, Goop moving chunks of the planet Piscisss (23.611 Ronnatons) or Gravattack stopping a Bellwood-sized black hole (19.5 Yottatons to 614.82 FOE) match and exceed most of the feats done by Invincible’s strongest characters. Even buying to stellar ends of the infamous “Sun Disk” feat is more than matched by feats done by other aliens or their technology such as Highbreed Warships being able to destroy Galvan Prime (1.64 Quettatons) or Ultimate Aggregor being stated to be able to survive a multi light-year spanning explosion (1.14 kiloFOE to 2.723 gigaFOE), the latter of which you could even downscale to the individual aliens Aggregor absorbed to attain his Ultimate form. And heck even giving Eve the very, very dubious universe-level scaling via Omnipotus, it’s more than matched by Gwen scaling to Sir George and Ascalon which has more explicit universe-level statements from highly intelligent characters like Azmuth and Vilgax. You could even argue for a multiversal high-end via scaling off of Feedback holding off the Annihilarrgh, though this is more debatable given Feedback’s energy manipulation consistently exceeds all of Ben’s other aliens at this. Speed is also just clearly in Gwen’s favor, as Vilgax’s flight from Earth to Petropia alone exceeds Viltrumites flying to Thraxa, with the likes of Albedo, Aggregor, and Kevin having speed feats that hit the Sextillions c range. Keep in mind that that due to the Ben 10 universe being stated to be infinite in size on top of containing myriad connected dimensions, Gwen’s own universe scanning feat would be infinite/immeasurable, supported by Ultimate Kevin’s and Albedo’s own universe/dimension crossing feats which blow Eve’s scaling to Universa far out of the water (and would make her universal scaling infinitely higher than Eve’s if you bought into uni Omnipotus).

All-in-all, Gwen utterly outclasses Eve in every physical comparison, stomping on finite ends and is the only one of the two combatants who has infinite/immeasurable ends and better arguments for scaling to universal or higher.

Arsenal/Abilities

This is more than likely the biggest factors in this fight, is their many pink bags of tricks and abilities at their disposal. Starting with their overall equipment, it’s not hard to see that Gwen has far more options to work with, but Eve isn’t without her strengths. Her construct armor and blades can be useful if things get up close, but her artifacts from Invincible: Guarding The Globe can give her some versatility, such as going invisible and causing confusion status effects. Good options, but ultimately outclassed by Gwen’s own options. Gwen can deactivate invisibility with her spells with Discombobulous Mechano, and given Gwen’s resistances to Dagon’s mental attacks, it wouldn’t take long for Gwen to shrug off confusion status effects. Meanwhile, Gwen’s own weapons such as the Staff of Ages could drain Eve of her power, or put the fight in her favor with the Charm of Luck, and the Charm of Reincarnation gives Gwen a means of coming back to life in the event that her body is destroyed. Overall, Gwen has far more useful tools then Eve does, with Gwen hard countering most of Eves.

Their overall powers and abilities have a lot to talk about. Both have many energy related abilities that would somewhat cancel out in terms of versatility, as they’re able to shape energy/mana into constructs, turn them into waves, beams, force-fields, and explosions, or use them to fly. Where things really start to take a turn is their abilities more under the surface, or in Eve’s case, below the microscope, which we’ll be talking about first; Eve’s powers. Subatomic manipulation is a very dangerous ability, something that can be a real threat to Gwen’s magical items such as the Staff of Ages due to its transmutation abilities, stopping the wincon of draining Eve’s powers. Her mental blocks have made it so transmutation working on a person is unreliable to use, but even then, Gwen has resisted transmutation, as she used a force-field to prevent becoming an Esoterica, one of Dagon’s mindless followers. Telekinesis is something that won’t be entirely useful either since Gwen also has it, canceling it out.

Perhaps Eve’s best abilities come from her mind manipulation and regeneration/resurrection. Eve can alter the brain to make someone become a different person, and while Gwen for a time resisted Dagon’s mind control, she’s shown vulnerability to it plenty of times across Ben 10, with Kevin having to help her by shielding her brain with a metal helmet, so mind manipulation is something that could swing the fight in her favor. Her regeneration and resurrection also provide usefulness to the debate. Eve can regrow her limbs, making lots of physical or basic mana attacks useless in bringing her down easily, and even after being killed by Conquest, Eve was able to resurrect herself and come back stronger and at full capacity, which would make Gwen statstomping not matter in the long run if she can come back to life. Her unrestricted form would also be a leg up, accessing even more power and even having the ability to alter people's memories. Eve certainly has options to affect Gwen’s minds and come back to life in the event that she is killed.

Now that we’ve talked about Eve, let’s go into Gwen’s advantages with her powers. She has an incredible amount of them to go over. For one, Gwen has many ways to end the fight quickly. She can create dimensional vortexes and send Eve to somewhere like the Null Void, a location in which Eve wouldn’t be able to escape from. Not only that, but Gwen can teleport herself and others to any location in the fight, meaning that she holds immense battlefield control. She possesses spells like Somnus, which would instantly put Eve to sleep, letting Gwen use a different wincon. Her abilities on the mind are incredibly important, as Gwen can look into and erase people's minds. This means that she can scan Eve for info and knowledge on her powers and simply remove that info from Eve’s brain. Not only that, but spells like Discombobulous Negatum and Contego could make Eve struggle to use her powers. Compare that to Eve’s own Mind Manipulation, which is only debatable if it would work, since Gwen did manage to hold back the mind manipulation of the Dagon. While he did eventually get into her mind, it should be noted that Dagon is incredibly powerful, even more than someone like Eve. Gwen has other advantages in this fight, like summoning Rock Monsters or even Bezel himself to fight Eve. Bezel, the best magic user in Ben 10, could provide back-up for Eve and end this fight even quicker. Gwen is immune to transmutation, something she demonstrated when the Dagon turned everyone on Earth into an Esoterica. She protected herself and others, which would cancel any transmutation Eve could do. Eve herself doesn’t resist transmutation, which Gwen can do. She’s turned people into liquid, which would get around Eve’s resurrection. Gwen also possesses Transfera Indentica, a spell which lets her switch the mind of individuals. She could just simply move Eve’s mind into a rock monster and kill it with one of her many spells, especially the ones that simply negate durability. As for other advantages, Gwen has multiple ways to track Eve, preventing any invisibility from her or chances of slipping away. Gwen herself possesses Invocation of the Wandering Eye, allowing her to create a group of illusions. Oh, Gwen can even use Eradico and make Eve explode from the inside out. One more thing, Gwen can also heal herself. Entering your anodite form requires total deconstruction of your body, freeing your mana form before creating a whole new body. This is way better than Eve’s own regeneration.  Additionally, since Gwen’s Anodite form is made of mana, rather than any physical component, Eve’s power likely wouldn’t work on her at all. We also found out that Gwen can just switch off Eve’s robot leg, which is more sad than anything.

To sum Gwen’s potential wincons up, she can remove the memories of Eve and make her helpless, send her into another dimension, or use Eradico to blow Eve up. She’s never come back from total body destruction, only wounds like stomach punches or cell-decay from old age. Gwen can also move Eve’s body into a rock monster and destroy it, preventing regeneration. There’s also the fact that Gwen can turn Eve and her constructs into a puddle of liquid, or just steal her soul. As an Anodite she could just stand there, and let Eve tire herself out because she can’t affect that form.

Tertiary Factors

Both of these redheaded gals have put a lot of time and skill into their craft, and from a young age have shown insane versatility for how they incorporate their powers into their fight, with Eve being insanely knowledgeable in chemistry and molecular structures, and Gwen being a bit of a bookworm when it comes to the catalog of magical spells. When it comes to sheer experience, neither necessarily outclass the other. They’ve faced threats from other worlds, from hulking monsters to insanely skilled conquerors. Eve’s expertise with her powers have taken her to working with the best superheroes on the planet, and Gwen has had foes admit to her deception and cunning nature, always seeming to have natural intuition and predicting skills.

In terms of sheer skills though, Gwen has Eve beat, and very hard. While its implied Eve has certainly spent her time in the training facilities of the Guardians of the Globe, Gwen is skilled in martial arts, knowing judo and taekwondo due to practicing for 9 years, which has taken her to the level of training the Plumbers do, going out at the top of her class with a 98% and training under the most decorated Plumbers in the academy. Add to her acrobatic prowess mid-fight, and Eve is going to have a hard time keeping up when Gwen decides to go hand-to-hand mode.

Conclusion

“I could feed the hungry — build houses for the homeless. I could improve people’s lives. College, homework, boys, superheroics — I’m wasting my potential here. I could do so much more.”

Advantages:

  • Mind manipulation and memory alteration are potential wincons…

  • Regeneration and resurrection make her harder to put down for good….

  • Transmutation could shut down some of Gwen’s items

  • Likely relative in experience and overall booksmarts

Disadvantages:

  • …but it hardly matters if Gwen herself has similar options

  • …But Gwen supasses her in Anodite form

  • Far inferior in the stat trinity no matter what ends you use for Gwen

  • Way less skilled in combat

  • No resistance to her own mind getting wiped or having it switched into a rock monster

  • Can’t escape from being sealed away with BFR, or if Gwen takes the fight to another location

  • Vulnerable to having her body manipulated or being turned into liquid

  • If not destroyed, the Staff of Ages could drain Eve’s powers

  • Cannot affect Gwen’s Anodite form in any meaningful way

  • This reddit post

“Your problem is that magic is the only thing you are about, but for me magic is only one aspect of who I am.”

Advantages:

  • Stat stomps Eve no matter what ends you use

  • Skilled in hand-to-hand combat.

  • Charm of Luck puts the odds in Gwen’s favor and worsens Eve’s odds

  • Charm of Resurrection can heal and revive Gwen from death.

  • Staff of Ages can drain the powers of Eve.

  • Has several spells to negate/drain Eve’s powers.

  • Relative in intelligence and experience.

  • Can get around Eve’s regeneration by wiping her mind, BFR, or switching her mind

  • Can manipulate Eve’s body by turning her into liquid.

  • Summons give a number advantage during the fight.

  • Can bring the fight to another location if needed.

  • Can steal Eve’s soul

  • Counters Eve’s transmutation wincon.

  • Cannot be affected by Eve while in her Anodite form

  • Can regenerate her body in Anodite form…

  • Might resist Eve’s Mind Manipulation….

Disadvantages:

While Eve’s subatomic manipulation grants her wide versatility that could match Gwen’s own mana on paper, she comes up very short in many ways. Gwen is far more powerful, with or without considering the Annihilargh or Dagon scaling due to scaling to some of Ben’s strongest aliens, which at worst would put her either slightly above Eve or far above, and she’s too fast for Eve to meaningfully do any of the few wincons she has, whereas Gwen has plenty of options to work with. Her charms can heal and revive her, drain Eve’s powers, though Eve could certainly break her tools, she has no answers to Gwen’s more grave and dangerous abilities, like getting her soul stolen or her body turned into liquid. And while Eve’s own resurrection would make statstomping somewhat of a non-factor, Gwen has many ways around it, and her own mental abilities can act as a counter to Eve’s mental abilities due to similar memory tampering, but Gwen’s is far more dangerous due to it being full blown erasure. There isn’t much else Eve has compared to Gwen’s plethora of wincons, and sooner or later she’ll find herself trapped in the body of a rock monster.

Looks like Eve couldn’t manafest a victory. The winner is Gwen Tennyson.

  1. I am fucking tired of spoiler warnings for fucks sake lmao. What do you expect of you are reading this blog

  2. Yeah, I figured Gwen would probably win. I don't really understand excluding the disk feat considering Death Battle explained their calculation well, and all arguments I've heard against Death Battle's interpretation of the feat are pretty dumb and biased, but I do agree that it probably doesn't change anything with the scaling you gave Gwen. LOL
A few things to note, though:
I personally use Gwen using clairvoyance the search the universe as a speed feat. There's a huge difference between Green Lantern and Mega Man.EXE PHYSICALLY searching an entire universe's volume in a short time-frame and what she's doing. AT BEST, it's a perception speed feat. But I personally would hesitate to even interpret it that way.
Also, I don't think many of the examples of immeasurable speed you gave hold up under scrutiny. Last time I checked, being able to time-travel and access higher-dimensions doesn't automatically mean immeasurable speed. Ultimate Kevin moving from the Forge of creation to Earth does look alright though.
Oh, and regarding Atom Eve's memory manipulation win-con ... I don't think it would work, period. Not because of any mental resistances on Gwen's part, but because Atom Eve's memory manipulation is a result of her physically altering a person's brain. She wouldn't be able to alter Gwen's pure energy Anodite form, and thus would not be able to alter her memory.
Anyways, that's all I have to share. Good work to everyone involved.

    2. Admittedly the two big reasons we didn't talk about the sun disk is a lack of discussion on the matter so it was hard for me, the blog owner to figure out how to implement it when no one could agree on anything, along with the fact that theres a chance itll just get covered again in a match where it could matter more that we have planned down the line for the Invincible series.
