“I survived because the fire inside me burned brighter than the fire around me.” - Joshua Graham

Ellen Ripley, the last survivor of the Nostromo Alien Attack.

Sarah Connor, the Mother of the Resistance against the Terminators.

This Halloween, we’re pitting two of the loveliest and most badass ladies in all of sci-fi and horror against each other. They’ve faced down against humanities’ most unkillable monsters, surviving their onslaught and paving the way for mankind’s future, all with a tough no nonsense attitude. But there can only be one future with one winner. Will Ellen Ripley count on her lucky stars, or will Sarah Connors carve her own fate into the unknown? Let’s go back to the 80’s, and bring on the action horror in this DEATH BATTLE!

Before We Start…

As usual, we will not be considering any crossover materials. No Fortnite, Dead by Daylight, Death Garden, Mortal Kombat, Call of Duty or whatever. This means any comic crossovers as well, so no we will not be using the Marvel or DC crossovers, Judge Dredd, Robocop anything. Even if some of these are canon, ignoring them is simply less complicated and allows for Ellen and Sarah to actually show off what they and their normal scaling can do.

Alien canon is fairly straightforward. We will of course be looking at the original 4 movies, the Prometheus series, Alien: Isolation and the newly released Alien: Romulus. Any supplementary materials such as the various novels, comics, video games, the Colonial Marines weapons guide, the roleplay book etc will also be taken into account. Alien canon does get a bit wonky but typically, most media in the franchise is canon and even what is outright non-canon does not actually change a whole lot outside of a few exceptions, especially with Ripley herself. So we will be doing a soft composite of her character. To add further, we will also be looking into The Predator franchise for scaling, while some will argue Alien and Predator are separate canons (With the AVP part of the franchise being claimed exclusive to Predator) we will later explain the choice to look into it, but do keep in mind that Alien media is the main focus here.

Terminator is a series notorious with its loose canon, mostly due to the abundance of time travel and paradoxes the already extensive media uses on a daily basis. It’s very strange with how the canon functions, as the series has multiple timelines in which the branches of canon occur. These branches happen every time someone time travels or tries to change a specific point in time, it doesn’t change time it creates a new one from that starting point and so on. There are infinite timelines so to speak. Likewise, there have been timelines where Sarah and John Connor along with the T-800 dubbed “Uncle Bob”  prevented the creation of Skynet all the way back in Terminator 2 and in some timelines, Skynet has terminated humanity from the face of the earth all together. The tricky part is that Sarah in some timelines bears little similarities to her iconic and original story. The primary example of this is Genisys, where she’s essentially a whole different character. Unlike Skynet, Sarah is not the same throughout other continuity. So you can’t just simply composite her.

So in this case, what will we be using? Well obviously we’ll be using the mainline canon of the movie series and their novelizations, minus Genisys as previously stated, and that does include Dark Fate even though there is no Skynet in that movie. Along with Sarah’s very own TV series, The Sarah Connor Chronicles. On a similar note, the various comics, games, guidebooks and Terminator Zero are being looked at as well and same goes for the two T2 novel series that both feature Sarah. These being T2 (creative) and The New John Connor Chronicles respectively.

Background

Ellen Ripley

“You are my lucky star.”

In the year 2122, Ellen Louise Ripley was in a bit of a rut. In between trying to mother her daughter Amanda and dealing with a deadbeat father draining their rent money for booze, money was tight and the bills weren’t going to pay themselves. So when Weyland Yutani offered a well paying job, she had to take it. Unfortunately, there was a hefty catch, it would take over a year for Ripley to be able to return to earth and would mean she’d miss Amanda’s 10th birthday… but would be back in time for her 11th. Ripley promised her daughter they’d keep consistent contact as long as the Nostromo was in range and that when she got back, She’d buy her the biggest gift Amanda could ever want. Amanda was her lucky star after all.

After setting off into deep space and going into hypersleep for a few months, The Nostromo’s crew was suddenly awakened early, the ship’s AI system MU/TH/ER picked up what was thought to be a distress signal. Being obligated to check it out, the crew set out for an unmarked planet and arrived shortly. When some of the crew explored the planet and found the source of the signal, Ripley was alerted to the fact that this wasn’t an SOS, it was a warning signal. Unfortunately, it was too late. The exploration crew came back with one of them unconscious, with a parasitic organism attached to his face. This flung the remaining 7 crew members into the worst hell imaginable, each of them being picked off one by one as an Alien creature took over the ship with only Ripley and the ship’s cat Jonesy making it out alive after blowing the thing into space and incinerating it with the escape pod’s jets. Ripley then went back into hypersleep, with a little luck, she’d be picked up…. Eventually.

Ellen woke up in a hospital, dazed and tortured by nightmares of the horror she had faced and the promise she had given her daughter. However, something wasn’t right. This hospital was very different from the ones she knew. After demanding to know where she was, she was soon met by Burke, a Weyland representative who oversaw her recovery. Soon she was faced with an even worse horror, she had been in hypersleep for over 57 years and her daughter had died of old age. After this and unsuccessfully trying to convince Weyland Yutani company heads of the Xenomorph threat, Ripley gave up and decided that she’d had enough of shady business practices and just wanted to be alone. A while later, Ripley received a visit from Burke, explaining to her that a small settlement on the same planet the Nostromo landed on had gone silent, believing that Xenomorphs may have played a role. Initially, Ripley blew him off, not wanting any part of it but her conscience soon caught up to her. She agreed, only on the terms that they were there to exterminate and not to study or to bring back.

Ripley had joined a small group of arrogant Colonial Marines and sure enough, had found an entire nest of the Aliens that killed her crew. Just one was enough to wipe her crew out, and these Marines were way too in over their heads. Ripley swiftly took charge of the situation, trying to keep another group of people from dying on her again. In this mess, Ripley had found a young, orphaned girl nicknamed Newt, around the same age her daughter would’ve been if she had made it back. Her motherly instincts took over, protecting the girl at all costs as they geared for escape from the now close to nuclear meltdown settlement. After discovering Burke’s betrayal and battling their way through an army of Xenomorphs, in the last minutes of their escape, Newt was kidnapped by the Aliens and taken to their nest. Ripley, refusing to let her go, prepared herself and went into the hive with only minutes to spare, taking Newt back from their Queen by force. The Queen however was very persistent and managed to sneak aboard their ship as it flew into orbit away from the melt down. There was one last battle against the Queen, ending with her spiraling into outer space. With victory in hand, Ripley, Newt and the other survivors went into Hypersleep and set off for home, with many adventures to come.

Sarah Connor

“There is no fate but what we make for ourselves

Born in 1965, with a father who left her, and later on in her adult life, would be a college student and have a job as a waitress. It started as a normal life for young Sarah Connor, until the day she was marked for termination. In 1984, 2 unknown individuals randomly showed up, in which we don’t know much but one thing, they're looking for Sarah Connor. They both would eventually find her, which would lead to Sarah being saved by one of them, a soldier named Kyle Reese. While the other was not a man, but a machine, known as The Terminator. Kyle would reveal to Sarah that in the future, Skynet will activate, and the war between the Machines and the Humans will commence. Kyle says that the Resistance against Skynet will win the war, however for one desperate attempt to win the war, Skynet would send 3 Terminators back in time. They sent a T-800 to kill Jacob Rivers as he was a big asset to win the war in the future, a new model known as the T-1000 to kill the leader of the Resistance as a child, and a T-800 to kill Sarah Connor. Kyle then drops the bomb that the leader of the Resistance is named John Connor, and Sarah is the mother of John. Sarah and Kyle continued to be hunted down by the Terminator, which allowed them to become close. So Kyle shot Sarah a few times, and after that, they would both have one final battle against the Terminator. The final battle would lead to Kyle's death and Sarah defeating the Terminator once and for all.

9 months later John Connor is born and Sarah would raise him to be ready for the upcoming event known as Judgment Day. This is where timelines will be mentioned. In the Judgment Day film, Sarah trains Connor as a child until she was arrested and sent to Pescadero State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. During her time, the T-1000 was sent back in time to kill John Connor. So in a complete coincidence, Sarah breaks out in an attempt to find John. After seeing the new T-800 model during her escape, she was almost taken back until John ordered the T-800 to save her. She then tags along with John Connor and later to be named Uncle Bob, trying to prevent Skynet from coming online, while fighting the T-1000. Sarah then finds the man who's constructing Skynet, Miles Dyson. Sarah tracks him down and tries to kill him, however she is unable to. They then work with Miles after explaining everything to him. They would break into Cyberdyne Systems and destroy everything Miles worked on to activate Skynet. After escaping, the T-1000 finds them and it leads to a final battle, with Sarah buying enough time for the T-800 to land a final blow. After killing the T-800, as they needed to in order to prevent any way for Skynet to come, Sarah would continue training for the upcoming war.

There's various timelines, so depending on what you read or watch, it leads to different changes on how the events go. In some timelines, even before T2, the war never comes.

Experience & Skill

Ellen Ripley

Being second in command of the Nostromo, Ripley has gained plenty of skills over her years with her career starting off with thwarting a terrorist attack while still in training. Which led to her being an essential asset against any threat that came her way, including dozens of Xenomorphs of huge varieties and their Queens. She is a trained pilot and a natural born leader, having led a ragtag group of Colonial Marines and rallied an entire prison to help her against the Xenomorph threat. She is a reliable tactician, having quickly formed plans to trap and kill Xenomorphs, even during high stress and with little time to spare.

Having dealt with several Xenomorph infestations, it's no surprise Ripley has (Usually on the fly) shown great skill with just about any weapon she came across, like when she used a Power Loader to parry a Queen Xenomorph and was claimed to be a natural by Hicks, as she completed a Marine Combat course with 15 minutes and in the comics, eventually joined the Colonial Marines as a Lieutenant. Even before this, Ripley was capable of driving Colonial Combat Vehicles with absolutely no prior knowledge of how to operate it, she just winged it and later in the comics she could do this with her eyes closed… literally. Needless to say, Ripley is very intelligent. Showcasing this as She figured out Burk's entire plan to sabotage them almost immediately and knows how to keep a level head even when faced with being mere seconds away from her ship self-destructing. She is notorious for nobody listening to her, only for her to be right in the end, proving the Nostromo Crew, The Colonial Marines, Weyland Yutani Sheep and the Occupants of Fiorina 161 dead wrong.

Ripley is very tech savvy, being an accomplished engineer. She could aid in repairing complex spaceships like the Nostromo and has repaired highly advanced Synthetics, such as Ash and Bishop, as well as more minor things like a prison's cooling system and many fuse boxes. This extends into her being able to craft useful items in preparation for missions, even rigging her Pulse Rifle and a Flamethrower together as she was on her way to save Newt from the destruction of Hadley’s Hope. Very fitting as the novelization makes note of her creativity. Ripley has proven that she’s not only a survivor but a fighter as well. Anyone should count on their lucky stars that they’re not on her bad side.

Sarah Connor

Ever since her first encounter with a Terminator, Sarah’s molded herself into a fine soldier more than capable of protecting her son and fighting various Terminator models. From the T-950 and T-1000, Rev-9  to The T-Infinity, the strongest Terminator model there is. While timelines vary, the oldest we ever see Sarah get is 55 years old in Dark Fate and the time she helped physically aid a war in the future when she was 59. Fighting terminators for years.

She’s trained with just about any firearm you give her - pistols, rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, grenade launchers and any sort of futuristic weapon, even ones that are normally too heavy to be wielded efficiently by humans, she’s been shown to be incredibly proficient at. She’s precise enough to somehow able to nail The T-Infinity dead in the head and negate its temporal forcefield, which stops and sends any bullet that gets close to reaching it to a different point in time, giving her the idea that The T-Infinity needs to identify the threat before its able to stop it.

Over the years, she’s wasted no time training John to the best of her ability. Including putting him through intensive martial arts training where they both practiced every form of martial art Sarah could find and gymnastics to boot. Good thing for John because he’s learning from the best, people just looking at her  can tell Sarah has been put through combat training and martial arts practice. Allowing her to be incredibly acrobatic, quick with her attacks and dangerous with her kicks and punches to the point where it seems like she can walk on air. Even past her prime, Sarah’s athleticism and skill as a fighter was said to be comparable to that of genetically enhanced superhumans that fight for the sake of the Resistance. You best believe she never backs down from a fight either, as long as her son is in danger she isn’t stopping till every Terminator in her way is a pile of scrap.

Equipment

Ellen Ripley

Pulse Rifle

Ripley's is modified with a Flamethrower and a tracker. Hicks has stated their weaponry has armor piercing rounds (10 MM Explosive-Tip Caseless) and the Pulse Rifle specifically is equipped with a high powered Grenade Launcher. It's self lubricating, almost jam proof, can work underwater or in a vacuum and can bust through steel. It's also stuffed with recoil absorbing fiber. Its rounds are so strong they can shatter triple paned glass barriers and will go through anything that isn't exceedingly thick metal or concrete. Ripley can carry up to 900 of these rounds.

Ripley also has a “Twin Pulse Rifle” in a video game, able to shoot two blasts at once

Seeing as Ripley is from a futuristic society, most of her firearms should be stronger than traditional modern firearms. Which have shown capable of destroying solid rock and can harm Yautja, as well as Xenomorphs. And while this is sorta vague, a Yautja has stated that Humans have weaponry equal to their own (Likely meaning their technology is of similar quality).

Laser Gun

Acquired in the Arcade side scroller.

Rips has several weapons similar to this, such as Laser Pistols, The Sebro Gun and the Wave Laser. Laser weapons have shown to be able to short out electronics, such as Yautja cloaks.

Smart Gun

A high powered machine gun. Is capable of targeting multiple enemies at once and automatically, It’s equipped with Infrared Tracking and has an RPM of 1,200. Other machine guns have shown to be able to destroy rock and metal

Is quoted as being “too damn accurate” by Marines themselves.

Flamethrowers

She has at least three but the one she gets from the Marines specifically shoots Napalm, completely incinerating aliens and their eggs. Ripley can use special fuel types to increase its power to the point of turning the flame blue.

Missile Launcher

Rapid fires high powered missiles that can obliterate Xenomorphs

Regulation Duchamp Blaster

It is named and… that's it! I’m sure it’s plenty strong!

Grenade Launcher

Ripley’s most powerful weapon in the Alien 3 video game, capable of reducing Xenomorphs to acidic bloody chunks.

Pump Action Shotgun

Should be the same as Keyes’, which with a single shot exploded a Xenomorph into chunks.

9mm Pistol

Yeah, Ripley stars in a DOOM Clone. One of her weaker firearms but still makes short work of Aliens.

Charge Thumper

Initially meant for mining, but it turns out it's perfect for piercing armor and killing Aliens.

Spray Gun.

(No image is ever given for it) It's a high powered Acid Blaster.

Plasma Torch

It is a plasma torch.

Mauser C96

Why Ripley bothers with this thing almost 300 years into the future from our time i have no idea. It’s certainly there.

Electric Prods

Can zap with “a couple hundred volts”. About a meter and a half long and don't require recharging under normal circumstances. Amanda's could be used to short out Synthetics temporarilyShe has also used a Cattle Prod.

Maintenance Jack

A decently versatile tool. Good for maintenance work and bashing in skulls.

M40 USCM Hand Grenades

3 of these could bend a metal door and 4 could “rock the whole level”. In Aliens: Colonial Marines, one grenade decimated a spaceship and later destroyed this bridge. Ripley used these in Aliens’ Novelisation and its Japan Exclusive Famicom Game, along with Smart Bombs.

Bombs

Bombs. (They’re from the Arcade game)

Pulse Grenades

Can destroy large metal walls.

Seismic Survey Charges

Any of Ripley’s guns are capable of launching these, though she must be mindful of the blast back.

Grappling Hook

Was strong enough to impale a Xenomorph.

Motion Detector

Modified by Ash to be able to detect nearby life forms via micro changes in air density. Ripley has also used a Marines Motion Tracker, which is likely better.

Spare Ammo

With as many guns as she has, of course Ripley carries spare ammo.

Communication Headset

A headset for… communication.

Climbing Gear

Ripley is geared with plenty of exploration gear. Its cord is strong enough to hold 3 adults easily.

Flashlight

Being an engineer requires actually being able to see what you’re doing.

Torches

It’s a stick on fire. What more do you want?

USCM Utility Light

Acquired from the Colonial Marines, it’s a tad more practical for combat.

Flares

Typically used for lighting dark areas, but Flares can burn with temperatures at 1,600 °C (2912 °F), hot enough to melt most metals!

Custom Double Casio F-100 (Watch)

A stylish choice to keep track of the time.

Auto Mapper

Not particularly meant for combat, but is quite handy for being aware of unfamiliar areas.

Shoulder Lamp

Ripley sure has a lot of ways to light up dark areas.

Night Vision Goggles

It might turn everything visible an ugly shade of green, but her enemies will be hard set on staying hidden.

Battery Pack

With as much futuristic tech as she has, you know she has to have a spare charger for it all.

Misc Tools

Ripley has used dozens of tools in her adventures to aid in her survival. Such as a Lightbar, Light Probes, Air Tanks, a Blow Torch, a Lighter, The “Finder” (A small device used to track signals), The Scanner (Able to pick up Electromagnetic Repulsion), Thermal Wraps, a Sand Pick and Cable Net.

Energy Meat

Restores two bars of Ripley's health.

Medkit Syringe

In Alien: Isolation’s “Crew Expendable” DLC, Ripley was able to craft these to heal herself up.

First-Aid 'Pick ups’

With as many games as She stars in, it’s no surprise that she has dozens of days to heal up.

Hypo-Pack

Xenomorph scum won’t know what to do if they can’t hurt you!

Adrenaline Burst Pack

Aside from healing any wounds, Adrenaline can do a multitude of other things in real life, such as heightening your senses and distracting you from pain.

Medical Kits

One of her better options for healing up, though still not the best.

Derm Patches

Kinda weak but it’s better than nothing!

Nostromo Drip

A timeless look. Look at all those zippers!

Armor

As suggested by the skull, it's likely the same armor the Colonial Marines wear. In the Novels it's stated to be quite versatile and strong, being composed of layers with a titanium alloy, carbon-fiber and finally a woven liner made of 1,500 denier Venlar fibres. Making it exceedingly useful against lasers and shattering bullets on contact. It’s also built to aid in stealth, able to reduce radar signatures and mask from infrared.

Exploration Suit

Is capable of allowing the wearer to survive harsh environments and its respirator has well over 24 hours of reserved air. It's “Bulky and Awkward” but it is a life support system, has sound detecting senors, an automatic Locator beacon, inter-suit communications and adjustable strength magnetic soles. Amanda’s Space Suit protected her from Atmospheric Reentry.

Acid Armor

Likely supposed to be the M4X Armor, granting heightened resistance to kinetic force and acid attacks.

Power Loader

She’s Power Loader Certified

It possesses superhuman strength, In its battle against the Alien Queen it could destroy large storage crates and is stated to be stronger than an Elephant, can hit with a ton of force and multiplies the user's “Carrying Capacity by several thousand”. It's made of a titanium alloy and is equipped with a high powered blow torch (capable of producing blue fire). In this Gameboy game they could shoot energy blasts, in a mobile game they have flamethrowers built into the claws and this toy for it has a missile launcher.

Modified Power Loader

Because Ripley is just simply her, she told the Colonial Marines to repurpose Power Loaders for her and Hicks to go beat the shit outta some Xenomorphs. It’s a smaller, faster and more nimble version that's modified specifically for combat. They’re made out of Alloyed Steel, have a built in flamethrower, extending arms and have the strength to lift up a large Xenomorph Queen.

The Nostromo

Registration #180246. Weighing in at 2 billion tons, The Nostromo has high powered lights, radar, sonar and ultraviolet sensors, a minor self repair system, reserved power systems, a medical may and Hypersleep Pods. Designed to essentially freeze occupants for long periods of time and sustain them, halting physical aging (though with some limits). It also possesses MU/TH/ER, a highly intelligent AI System that can pilot it better than any human, create formulas for acid nullifying agents, and decipher alien language (Though it isn't without fault). In earlier ships, like the Covenant, MU/TH/ER could give updates on a ship’s physical damage and identify the cause. It is important to keep in mind that the Nostromo is not meant for combat or exploration but is rather just a mere Cargo Ship. It is however able to scan planets and solar systems, to either get information on a planet's inhospitality (even its gravity) or find directions. It's stated on several occasions to be able to move faster than light, even being able to travel from an unknown solar system to earth within 10 months (Calculated at 5x FTL).

The Nostromo does require a full crew however, Ripley would at best struggle to work it by herself. Although things like activating Self Destruction Mode, she can do it by herself. In a Movie Commentary, it's stated that despite looking more crud, the Nostromo could have been just as advanced as the Prometheus. Modern Spacecrafts are capable of speeds of 700x Faster than Light, this is pretty consistent throughout most of, if not all of Alien Media. Though, it is stated in some cases to take time to reach faster than light speeds. It is also stated that sensors could operate a thousand times faster than human hands

The Narcissus

Contains a very effective and fast acting Med Pod and a Hypersleep Pod. Is capable of Lightspeed Travel and older ships of similar size had enough power to destroy large statues.

APC

Has a self navigation system, evening being able to move out of the way of obstacles and has a strobe beacon. It is equipped with laser sighted missiles and built in machineguns. It's stated to move “like a runaway comet” and can smash through walls with ease consistently, can tank high powered explosives and they’re fast enough to outspeed explosions.

Jones (Jonesy)

Yes. The cat is coming too.

Valued member of the Nostromo and Ripley's personal pet Orange Tabby Cat. He's smarter than the average house cat and has alerted Ripley to the presence of danger. Cats have excellent eyesight and night vision as well as having more than 200 million odor sensors in their noses; humans only have just 5 million. Making Jones’ sense of smell 14x greater than an average human. Jonesy can break the Fourth Wall and Ripley has a little cat carrier for him, strong enough to protect from the persistence of a Xenomorph

Sarah Connor

Bowie Knife

During her crisis where she questioned the decision of killing Miles Dyson, she briefly used a Bowie Knife to carve the phrase “No Fate” on the wooden table.

Sledgehammer

Sarah, being not too keen on keeping a Terminator by her side as an ally, wielded a Sledgehammer to bash the computer's technological brain out. Before John stopped her that is.

Taser

For safety reasons I assure you, Sarah has a Taser by her side nearly at all times which can, obviously shoot out and let at least 50,000 volts onto whoever it hits. Leaving their muscles convulsed and them laying on the ground.

Night Vision Goggles

Sarah (for some reason I really don’t know how she gets some of this stuff) has shown to have multiple goggles able to turn the night sky a bright green and track people that would otherwise be unseen.

Moped

For means of transportation, Sarah has obtained a Moped to quickly get around and save people in the nick of time.

Glock 17

A semi-automatic handgun, this 9mm pistol can easily be carried around and still pack a punch. Fitting for Sarah.

Beretta 92FS

Another semi-automatic pistol Sarah has used in her fights, this gun is a double/single action pistol is a stable and a powerful edition in Sarah’s arsenal.

Colt M1911A

Used in an attempt to commit suicide, Sarah has a single action semi-automatic pistol in the Colt M1911A.

Colt/Detonics 1911

A pistol with a redesigned barrel to improve accuracy and precision, these tiny and relatively fragile models are perfect for mid range.

Smith & Wesson 4506

This pistol is a third-generation pistol chambered with a .45 ACP cartridge and constructed of stainless steel, and with a single and double action to boot.

Ruger Security Six

Briefly shown to be wielded by Sarah in an apartment during her first experience with a Terminator, this is a double-action revolver with 6 rounds and each round hitting with the force of a truck.

Detonics SpeedMaster

Used to shoot Dyson, Sarah has a custom model of Detonics 1911 used in only Terminator 2 and another movie, Runaway, this unique pistol features a CombatMaster slide and a ScoreMaster frame all in one.

Taurus PT99AFS

In her invasion of Cyberdyne alongside John, Dyson and Uncle Bob, she used a PT99 with its own adjustable and raised sights for target shooting.

Chiappa Rhino 50DS

While never really used in a fight, Sarah has a .357 magnum and 6-round cylinder revolver holstered to her vest if she ever needs to pull it out for defense. Or offense knowing her.

AKM

An improved version of your standard AK-47, this assault rifle is a semi/full auto, able to shoot a barrage of bullets while remaining light and easy to carry.

M-16 Rifle

Kept under the cushions of her sofa, Sarah has a M-16 rifle equipped with a scope sight at the ready.

Colt Commando

A series of M-16 based firearms produced by Colt, the Colt Commando is similar to your basic M-16 but comes with a flash hider, suppressor, laser sight and its own ACOG scope.

CAR-15

Being ready for jump attacks from Terminators at virtually any time must make someone worried, luckily for Sarah she keeps a bunch of her weapons in her house which can easily be accessed if she ever needs to defend herself or John. One of these being a CAR-15 assault rifle, perfect for quick retaliations and pushing even the toughest Terminator models back.

Colt Model 933

The Colt Model 933 distinguishes itself from the M4A1 carbine through its unique barrel and capacity. Allowing it to be an incredibly compact rifle that is extremely well suited for close ranged gun fights.

M4A1 Carbine

Speaking of the M4A1 Carbine, Sarah used this model of firearms to fight against the Rev-9 in Dark Fate and it's a good choice too, it's a fully automatic and gas-operated yet lightweight rifle that is especially dangerous in the hands of Sarah. Much like anything else really.

Uzis

Used against some sort of mix between a T-1000 and a T-X, Sarah used dual uzis to fire rapid bullets into the Terminator to hopefully slow it down. She later kept these guns for future use as well.

Micro-Uzi

Complimenting her twin uzis, she has a small variant of your standard Uzi strapped to her Moped.

Remington Model 870

A strangely commonly used weapon by Sarah, the Remington Model 870 is a pump action shotgun which Sarah wields and reloads like an absolute badass in order to push the T-1000 back and protect John of course.

Combat Shotgun

I mean, she is in Fortnite after all. This brand of shotguns are an absolute menace when it comes to close counters, which makes sense because they often struggle at longer ranges. While we don’t know the specifics on what kind of combat shotgun Sarah has used, we do know that can fire multiple shells in short succession.

Mossberg 500 Persuader

Sarah, being the shotgun fanatic she is, has the Persuader variant of the Mossberg 500: a standard tactical and home defense shotgun. Which she uses about how you would expect.

Benelli M4 Entry

A shotgun with the new system of dual gas pistons systems for semi-automatic operation, the Benelli M4 series has quite a few entries, but the focus for now is the entry literally called Entry. Which she customized with a burnt bronze cerakote.

Serbu Super Shorty

Sarah has a short and tiny shotgun in the Serbu Super Shorty, a 12 gauge pump-action shotgun that can fight off Terminators, even more advanced ones like the Rev-9.

Collapsible Shotgun

As someone who's always looking for something practical enough to fit in her purse, Sarah has gotten one of those collapsible shotguns in her saddlebag with their very own explosive shells to boot.

Fostech Origin-12

Sarah, in her introduction in Dark Fate, used a Fostech Origin-12, a 12 gauge and semi-auto shotgun to rapidly fire on The Rev-9 in order to knock it off of the bridge.

Sniper Rifle

Okay, no one likes a know-it-all, Sarah. In any case, Sarah has a sniper rifle she used against the T-Infinity to catch it off guard and nullify its temporal forcefield as a result, with some help from some explosives of course.

M72 LAW

If Sarah ever needs to dish out more firepower then what her regular weapons and firearms can suffice, she can always pull out a freaking rocket launcher from her car and send a unit as strong as the Rev-9 flying away in a single shot. Which is exactly how many shots she has in this rocket launcher anyway.

Carl Gustav 88mm

To make sure any Terminator that ambushes her won’t live to report back to Skynet, Sarah installed a trapdoor in the middle of her living room which she used to store a Carl Gustav 88mm - an anti-tank rocket launcher capable of destroying main battle tanks with its own optical sight - which she heaves onto her shoulders like a toy and fires at a Terminator to slow it down. Actually the coolest shit ever.

Pipe Bomb

In the original film, Sarah was not exactly used to all the firearms and weapons she’s now adapted to. Kyle Reese, a soldier sent from the future, taught her nearly everything she needed to know. Which I guess included how to make a pipe bomb to attempt to blow The T-800 to bits.

C-4 and Thermite Grenades

To ward off any crooks harvesting the cities that were destroyed by Judgement Day, Sarah has several pieces of C-4 she can detonate at a moment's notice with her detonator. She also has spare thermite grenades in case her threatening, or the explosion, didn’t stop whatever was coming after her.

Stun Grenades

Along with her standard grenades she keeps handy, Sarah has a stun grenade or two on a basket that’s attached to her Moped.

Energy Rifle

Used by Sarah in her last battle against Skynet in the past, Sarah dawned her very own Energy Rifle along with various other gear. But the main focus is obviously the Energy Rifle itself. This gun shoots particles and beams of brilliant energy that have been shown to affect the T-XA before. Makes sense since this gun has the capacity to blow a human head up.

Plasma Rifle

Manufactured and used by the Resistance in the Future War, Plasma weapons are essential for any soldier in Terminator due to the sheer power they possess. Naturally, Sarah has gotten her hands on one of the strongest variations of plasma weapons there are, a Plasma Rifle. This bad boy has a built in energy storage cell and is perfectly dielectric, firing blasts of pure plasma in the 40 Kilowatt to megawatt range. Scorching metal and ionizing air with its violet beams when it strikes the metallic material of a Terminator’s skull in actinic light if not completely obliterating it, this is one of the only weapons in the entire series that is shown with the ability to destroy Terminator models such as the T-800 and T-950 in a single shot.

Plasma Launcher

Powered by a charged vial of isotopes. When questioned “Is this nuclear?” The only response given was by Chronicles Original Terminator, Cameron, adding “No… not really.” Which proceeds to blow up a T-800 in a single shot. Thank you Sarah Connor Chronicles… you peaked in episode 1

Laser Gun

Sarah has a small laser gun on her belt for fighting against stronger Terminator models. Despite its size, this handheld laser is extremely useful in fights against even the toughest of Terminator models. This laser is capable of disrupting advanced electronics and killing Terminator models all together. Although this gun takes a long time to recharge, a total of 10 minutes actually.

Laser Rifle

Sarah’s strongest weapon and the strongest weapon used by the Resistance, usually stolen from already dead Terminators. The Laser modules are vast and have a ton of different models, the only one Sarah has been shown using is the Laser Rifle however. These Rifles are very heavy and for humans, require being held with two hands. Still, the extraordinary power of its shots are worth it. They are described as moving in a light beam and burn through materials it hits, meaning they are real lasers. The lasers are so powerful that they can incinerate whole people, engulf a tree in flames with one shot and of course, destroy Terminator models.

Abilities

Ellen Ripley

High Endurance

Survived over 57 years in Hypersleep and can continue fighting even when heavily injured and burned.

High Stamina

Fought and Survived against Xenomorphs for over 24 hours straight without rest

Heightened Senses

Ripley could sense movement without seeing her enemy. Newt's were compared to Sentry gun sensors and Hudson could do similar.

Resistances

Mind Tampering: Survived 57 years in Hypersleep and still had a clear mind, despite it being said that prolonged Hypersleep can mess with it.

Electricity: Can shrug off being hit by electrical attacks and being struck by lightning strikes.

Heat: She can walk through hot steam and not react. Other humans have recovered quickly from being caught on fire.

Acid. Via Colonial Marine Armors

Sarah Connor

High Endurance

Sarah is incredibly resilient and determined, she was able to endure being stabbed by the T-1000 and nearly being killed because the T-1000 wanted her to call out for John, which she simply said “Fuck you” to.

Heightened Senses

Having trained for over 10 years, it should be expected that Sarah’s senses are heightened to the max by this point. She was able to tell that someone was behind her, noticed the smell of the man, heard the whisper of fabric and deduced it was the sound of jeans and that was enough to call out John sneaking up on her.

Resistances

Electricity: Recovered quickly after being relentlessly assaulted with a Stun Baton and Kyle Reese could take shocks from damaged wiring.

Heat: She should be comparable to other characters that can survive shots from Plasma Weapons.

Weaknesses

Ellen Ripley

Ripley has proven time and time again that she is a true survivor, but she is not without fault. Ripley is merely human and is typically on the back foot against her Alien adversaries, and such experiences have left her with severe survivor's guilt and constant recurring nightmares. Losing so many people she cared about so quickly and so constantly to the Xenomorphs has left her somewhat psychologically damaged. This also isn’t helped by her temper, as she is known to lash out in stressful situations.

Sarah Connor

Sarah may have achieved many things in her years as a prime member of the Resistance, but she is by no means a perfect soldier. For all of her weapon mastery and martial arts training, she will always be human and much weaker than the Terminators she faces both physically and mentally, especially mentally. Sarah has faced severe PTSD from her experiences with Terminators since her first encounter with one, leaving her with vivid dreams of Judgement Day. She’s known to let her emotions get control of her as well, which has led to her nearly killing Dyson in front of his kids in a desperate attempt to stop Judgement Day. But the biggest case of her emotions getting to her is her belief in putting others lives first before her own, which has caused her death in more than one timeline.

Before The Verdicts…

Is Predator/Alien vs Predator Canon?

This is actually decently straightforward. It is claimed by some fans that due to Prometheus and Alien: Covenant showing the creation of Xenomorphs, AVP cannot be canon as its set in modern times and would only be canon to Predator. Along with a Xenomorph skull being seen in a Yautja ship in Predator 2, which also takes place in modern times. So they just can’t possibly take place in the same universe right?

While at a first glance this seems clear cut, there are arguments against this, and some rather strong ones. Firstly, if you pay attention to Prometheus, you can see wall art of a Xenomorph-like creature within the Engineer's ship. Insinuating they have been around for far longer than usually thought. But more damningly: David, who is often claimed to be the creator of the first Xenomorph... outright states in Alien Covenant's novelisation that they are not of his design, but rather he has been following the blueprints left by the Engineers and putting his own twist on it. Which tracks with what we see in the movies. David is technically only responsible for the Praetomorph, which is similar to the usual Xenomorph, just slightly different visually with a very different growth cycle. So in short, David is not the creator of the Xenomorphs we know through his own admission and ultimately it has only ever been a fan theory that AVP and Predator are disconnected from Alien. It also doesn't help that Fox or anyone associated has never elaborated on AVP's canonicity as far as we've seen as of this blog's creation.

Even if we were to ignore the evidence against AVP/Predator being separate canon from Alien, you can still argue for Ripley to get this scaling through a soft composite. Ripley 8 does appear in the AVP comics and Ripley was originally intended to appear in 2018's The Predator (for some reason), giving evidence that she would still exist within that hypothetical Predator universe. This part is admittedly very iffy, but this is just here as a supportive argument to help solidify the main point here.

Now what about Weyland Yutani? He dies in the first AVP and then again in Prometheus… So what the hell is up? Well, simply.. They're just different people. The one in AvP is Charles Weyland, while the one in Prometheus is Peter. There's even a Karl Weyland in the video game. So yeah, there are unironically several people in the universe who look exactly the same…

Can Ripley Physically Scale to Xenomorphs?

While at first this may seem very silly, the answer is a surprising yes! She should be comparable to other humans, who've shown they can damage Yautja and Xenomorphs. While Humans are never portrayed as equals of course, they are consistently able to harm and kill them in direct combat. Hanzo from Predators could duel the Falconer Predator on relatively equal footing (With this fight ending in a draw), and his brother Eiji could do the same. Dutch in a short novel also beat a Predator's ass so bad it ran away from him lmao and in the same series, Adballah Khan could battle a Predator in a sword battle. Nikolai from the books could also take on one in a knife fight

There are a ridiculous amount of instances where normal unenhanced humans, and even Ripley herself can match, damage and kill these species. Even Queens have caught smoke from Humans, like Lex Woods, who could physically harm one with a spear and Shivon, who impaled a Xenomorph Queen with a metal pole. This even more consistently goes for speed, unsurprisingly there are dozens upon dozens of instances when Humans are perfectly capable of dodging and tagging their Alien foes, whether it be with weapons or else. Humans are also consistently able to take hits from various kinds of Xenomorphs and Yautja alike. It is very difficult to argue against Ripley getting this scaling, at the absolute worst she would undoubtedly scale in terms of speed. We just found it too consistent to ignore that Humans within this universe can physically harm and even kill Xenomorphs and Yautja alike. Although keep in mind, we understand that it is clear that humans like Ripley aren’t 1 to 1 with them in terms of Strength and Durability, so we are only arguing for down scaling.

Can Sarah Physically Scale to Terminators?

When it comes down to whether or not Sarah, or humans in general, can scale to Terminators physically. There are multiple grounds to cover. Let’s cover the obvious factor that you can’t scale Sarah to, being the Terminators mechanical macho in their strength as it’s consistent from the very first models that they are far stronger and tougher than the average human being. Something as old as a T-90 or T-600, let alone the T-800’s are vastly superior physically. Although we can bring up the case that Sarah and other trained Soldiers are capable of taking beatings from T-800 models and lower, with John Connor coming out on top against a T-600 and a past prime Sarah keeping up against the Rev-9 . While they may be physically outmatched and cannot deal significant damage at hands to their pursuers, there’s no reason to believe our heroes can’t keep pace with Terminators in speed. To cover a very important part of Terminator scaling would be to mention Evans, who’s beaten down a T-800 with his bare hands, albeit we never see this happening and have not much context for it otherwise. Having Sarah scale physically to the Terminators does undermine the whole purpose of the series’ existence and the threat they pose. It’s never about using muscle to overpower, rather using your wits, quick feet and tenacity to figure a work around to the nigh-invincible Terminators. With that said, we can wrap this segment up with a brief summary. Sarah while she can’t pack the punch physically to rival the Terminators. She sure as hell can take beatings from them, and keep up in speed.

Verdict

Stats

Let’s start with (arguably) the most important pieces of the debate. As far as physicals go, Ripley has the clear advantage in pure muscle. Disregarding scaling for a moment, Ripley just on her own just shows more impressive cases of brute strength than Sarah does, but with it and accounting for the numbers it only gets worse for Connor. Humans in Alien/Predator just show more blatant and higher feats of superhuman strength and durability than the ones in Terminator. Characters like Dutch have tanked Plasma Caster shots, which when only looking at their middle ends are nearly 3x stronger than what T-600’s can scale to. There’s also the fact that consistently Humans within Ripley’s universe are capable of dealing physical damage to Xenomorphs and Yautja, sometimes even being able to outright kill them in physical combat, which includes Ripley herself. Sarah and others have shown that they can withstand beatings from most Terminator models, but there is a severe lack of evidence of them dealing damage back, outside of video game mechanics. While this still should mean Sarah would downscale like Ripley does, it is abundantly clear who has a tougher time against their monstrous adversaries than the other.

If we’re to bring up their absolute max, we’d have to look into Judgement Day and Hadley’s Hope. According to the novels, a T-90 was able to beat down protective doors that took a portion of the blast waves from the Judgement Day nuke, which at most could add up to 25 megatons, assuming it’s a Tsar Bomb and accounting for that the blast waves are half the bomb’s original output. On the other hand, it is revealed in the Aliens comics that Xenomorphs survived the destruction of Hadley’s Hope, which as explained by Bishop is equivalent to 40 Megatons. Both feats have glaring problems however in everyone’s favorite factor: Surface Area. We have no idea where these things were in relation to the explosions, as it is just never directly shown but, we also have to keep in mind if these feats would even be consistent in the first place. The Alien universe does have a few kiloton and potential megaton feats outside of the Hadley’s Hope thing, while Terminator simply does not. It’s also important to remember what performed the Judgment Day feat to begin with, a T-90, the earliest model of Terminator that we know of. It can hardly be argued as consistent when much more powerful models later on at absolute best show city block level feats. Even if we were to ignore Judgment Day and Hadley’s Hope, Ripley would still have a multitude of town level feats to fall back on, to where Sarah would range from building to city block. We do understand it may come off as weird to argue Ripley and Sarah are physically on these levels, but at worst their arsenals would still scale. So Sarah’s guns and explosives would scale, but so would Ripley’s, with the addition of her full body futuristic armors. Which would allow Ripley to take the punishment that Sarah can dish out and give just as much in return (and more), while the same cannot be argued for Sarah.

Speed is a bit closer though, as both scale to characters that have dodged, reacted to and moved in tandem with lasers. The feats that stuck out to us as their most impressive would be a Chestburster dodging a ceiling mounted laser, and an Enhanced Human, Jade, dodging and leaping around laser fire. Both within very close ranges. You can argue that Ripley should decently upscale a Chestburster’s speed, as she has consistently battled the adult versions and their Queens, along with a plethora of Xenomorphs variants in extended media which should obviously be faster than their infant stage in growth. On Sarah’s side, Jade has said that she was very impressed that an older Sarah could keep up with her in sparring matches, although she is still an enhanced human compared to Sarah, who isn’t. So Sarah would likely only downscale even when accounting for if she’s a tad younger. Ultimately we decided that speed is likely just similar between the both of them, if one were to have an advantage in terms of numbers, it is only going to be a slight one and you can argue that they can push themselves a bit harder to be faster to keep up with each other, especially with adrenaline in mind. Speed would have to be astronomically different for it to really matter for either of them and with the feats we have, that is incredibly unlikely. So in short, Ripley takes physical strength and general attack potency, while speed stays somewhat similar between the two of them.

Arsenal

When it comes to arsenals, both Ellen and Sarah have plenty to choose from, guns, bombs and melee weapons…a whole bunch. Both have explosives to keep the other at a distance, laser weapons that can shut down tech and their weapons in general have shown to deal significant damage and outright obliterate their main enemies but Ripley typically just has more options, and more destructive options. It’s important to keep in mind that Sarah’s arsenal is mostly made up of modern weaponry, while Ripley’s is mostly made up of futuristic military weaponry, helped by the fact that Ripley is a few hundred more years ahead of where Sarah is canonically. The Smart Gun would automatically lock onto Sarah without Ripley needing to directly aim it, the Pulse Rifle with its multiple attachments like the Flamethrower and Grenade Launcher make it much more versatile than any singular gun Sarah has and the Spray Gun’s acid would be useful for just destroying whatever weapon Sarah has out. Sarah’s laser weaponry is very strong, but they’re only a small part of her arsenal, while Ripley’s entire arsenal is made up of comparatively strong weaponry (If not just outright stronger). It should be kept in mind however, that Ripley’s arsenal is more technology based than Sarah’s so if she were to use her Anti-Tech laser gun first, whatever gun or tool Ripley has in hand would be shut off temporarily but at the same time, Sarah’s has a recharge time after each shot, something that isn’t established for Ripley. Rips could also just remedy this by switching her weapon, as well as the fact that Ripley has guns that would be unaffected by this, like the 9mm, the Sawed Off Shotgun and the Mauser.

Where Ripley’s arsenal really starts to turn the tides however, is through healing items, armors and gadgets. For starters, while both have enhanced senses, Ripley still has the leg up via her various tracking devices, allowing her to have a more direct idea of where Sarah is at all times (With one also being attached to the Pulse Rifle). Another glaring advantage for Ripley is her plethora of healing items from various video games, something Sarah lacks. Specifically, the Hypo-Pack is incredibly dangerous here. In a fight that can come down to “Who gets the lucky shot off first”, being totally invincible for even just 30 seconds is detrimental to Sarah’s chances, especially with the Smart Gun in mind and things such as the Medical Syringe are items that Ripley can craft by hand and on the spot, ultimately giving her much more room for error than Sarah. Furthermore, Ripley’s armors are a solid counter to some of Sarah’s most powerful weapons. While Sarah’s lasers could incinerate an unprotected Ripley, Colonial Marine Armor is specifically made to be resistant to lasers and cover her full body as said by the item's description. Which means at worst, Sarah has to beat through that armor first and at best, Sarah has to be more cautious of where she aims than Ripley would have to be.

Now time for the biggest question on everyone’s minds. The Power Loader. We’re not gonna beat around the bush here, if Ripley gets ahold of Sarah with this thing, she is dead. With it multiplying the user’s strength several thousandfold, Sarah would be incapable of escaping its grasp and would basically be at Ripley’s mercy. However, the basic Power Loader that we’re all familiar with is pretty slow and with it being so big, considering Sarah’s agility, it’d be a prime target to get EMPed and scorched by Sarah’s laser weaponry… Right? Not necessarily. It’s important to remember that no matter how you cut it, Ripley’s tech is significantly stronger than Sarah’s via scaling and this would apply to the Power Loader’s durability. Even assuming the absolute highest possibilities for both and ignoring their issues, it's 25 Megatons vs 40, almost double in Ripley’s favor and the Power Loader is also made of a Titanium Alloy, which is incredibly resistant to heat. So at worst, it would still protect Ripley from the blast and allow her to escape and the whole speed problem is solved as well by the Modified Power Loader that Ripley gets from the Colonial Marines, with it being much more slender and made to be a tad more nimble than a typical Power Loader as it’s actually meant to be used in combat. So in the end, Ripley’s arsenal is just simply more advanced than Sarah’s overall and has several key counters to her most effective weaponry, making Ripley more than capable of handling Sarah in any sort of gun fight.

Tertiary Factors

Finally, we reach our final category for our final girls. Who’s gone through the thickest of muds to avail for the future. With the nature of this confrontation, any advantage can lead to a victory, so let’s bring together our fatale to find a covenant to the looming dark fate ahead. For Ellen, this is very straightforward, having colonial training under her belt along with the expertise on firearms it’s no shock Ripley became second in command of the Nostromo. Being the tech savvy engineer we all know Ellen to be. Her book smarts have come in clutch time and time again against not just the Xenomorph threats; having conjured up traps on the fly, tinkering with her weaponry, being able to pilot vehicles with no prior knowledge or deciphering Burk’s betrayal on their crew. Ripley’s no short of a genius and knows how to apply her brains to the battle ahead. Never cowering to fear even when faced with the impossible odds imposing her. Confidence was key for Ellen to have gone this far against the multitude of Xenomorphs in her lifetime.

On the other hand, Sarah had fought in the resistance for more than 30 years by the time the events of Dark Fate take place. She’s picked up a multitude of extensive training over those decades, including various martial arts and just combat in general. She’s so talented that to others it seems as if she’s walking on air and has even impressed enhanced humans during sparring matches, like something you’d expect from a Marvel or DC character. With such a tactical mind, it’s of little shock that Sarah has battled and whooped the most dangerous Terminators that Skynet can dish out, from your Arnolds, the Rev-9, to even the T-Infinity and raised John Connor to be a highly respected leader of the Resistance. Sarah is quite impressive to say the very least.

Sarah should handily take this one, but not by an insane margin. Though Ellen has colonial training under her belt and a knack for firearms, Sarah has an even deadlier knack for firearms at a wider range, and has been trained extensively in martial arts to the point of her acrobatic prowess being compared to enhanced humans, which could provide wiggle room if she's in a position where she has to evade gunfire, so Ripley would have her hands full in a close quarters hand to hand fight. In terms of general booksmarts, Ellen would be smarter on the other hand due to her experience in technology and engineering but overall, Sarah takes the majority of Tertiary advantages thanks to her vast experiences in her lifetime.

Conclusion

Ellen Ripley

"I'm okay.. I'm stuck on this Lifeboat a long way out but we had to destroy the ship. We had to destroy the Nostromo. We just couldn't risk bringing that thing home with us, I needed to protect you. Don't worry.. don't worry about me, I'm sure I'll see you very soon. I love you, sweetheart."

Advantages:

  • Larger and generally more destructive arsenal

  • Similar in speed

  • Healing Items and the Hypo-Pack allow for much needed wiggle room

  • Colonial Marine Armor and Power Loaders provide superior protection

  • Radars and Tracking Devices would shut down stealth

  • Smart Gun’s auto aim and targeting makeup for any sort comings in precision

  • Physically superior, with or without a Power Loader

  • Superior Technology overall

  • More Intelligent academically

  • Better Mother

  • Jonesy clutches

Disadvantages:

  • Not nearly as experienced

  • Not as skilled or accurate with guns as Sarah

  • Lacks a lot of far ranged options

  • Took Sega more than 10 years to release an Isolation Sequel

  • Alien 3

  • Ridley Scott needs to stop being so hit or miss

Sarah Connor

“The unknown future rolls toward us. I face it, for the first time, with a sense of hope. Because if a machine, a Terminator, can learn the value of human life, maybe we can too.”

Advantages:

  • Plasma and Laser weapons were more powerful then Ellen physically

  • Similar in speed

  • More accurate and precise with firearms

  • Much more agile and athletic

  • Far more experienced

  • Higher combat skill and intelligence

  • Greater range via Sniper Rifles

  • Hates the word “nano” (like any vs debater)

  • Jim Cameron might still have the sauce…

Disadvantages:

  • Even her most powerful weapons can’t bypass Ripley’s armors

  • Physically weaker

  • Agility can only prolong the inevitable against the Smart Gun

  • Technology is not as advanced as Ellen’s

  • Way less protected and unable to deal with direct damage

  • Sarah Connor Chronicles

  • Terminator Dark Fate

  • Her monologues

At the end of the day and all things considered, this is an unsurprisingly close fight but unfortunately for the Mother of the Resistance, the Last Survivor of the Nostromo is the one making it out alive from this bout. Sarah Connor was an incredibly dangerous opponent, who’s higher combat prowess combined with her various futuristic weapons and agility could clutch a few wins here and there. However, we came to the agreement that Ripley’s technological advantages were too much in the end. In a fight like this, given her lengthy combat history, Sarah would swiftly come up with various ways to bring home the victory, but for every route she could take, Ripley simply had an answer for it. If it came down to a quickdraw, the Smart Gun was basically cheating. If Sarah tried to use her Laser or Plasma Weapons, Ripley’s armors would resist them long enough for her to counter. If Sarah tried to keep her distance and whittle Ellen down, her healing items and the Hypo-Pack would give her the leeway to close the distance. If Sarah tried to instigate a hand to hand brawl, she would quickly find herself physically outclassed. Sarah’s more tactical mind could prolong the fight, as she is much more experienced and their speeds were likely similar, but ultimately stalling out the fight is all she could do more often than not. Sarah Connor has consistently proven herself as an excellent soldier and a force of nature, but against a foe with a larger, more advanced and powerful arsenal, grander muscle and wit, she just couldn’t hope to terminate Lieutenant Ellen Louise Ripley
