Natsu Dragneel, the Fire Dragon Slayer of Fairy Tail.

Asta, the 1st Class Senior Magic Knight of Black Clover.

The world is full of magic in all its many spells and sorceries, and what better way to learn such power then fighting side by side with your guild? These two orphaned magic warriors, in all their loud and hot-headed words, continue to inspire their friends and prove to be the most formidable and smartest of fighters. Can the Salamander of the Fairy Tail Guild fire up the battlefield, or will the Boy Hated by Magic fight with all his might? Believe in magic in this DEATH BATTLE!

Before We Start…

Fairy Tail is pretty straight forward, we'll be using the original manga, anime, 100 Year Quest Anime and Manga, and the Fairy Tail films.

Black Clover is also pretty simple, Manga and Anime will be used, along with the film and Novels.

Background

Natsu

“Don't die for your friends, live for them!”

In the world of Earthland, magic was once a cause of persecution. But, with the establishment of Mage Guilds to protect them, the use of it became more and more accepted by the day. Nowadays, mage guilds take on requests as a form of work, and mages themselves are free of all stigma. In the kingdom of Fiore, perhaps on the entire continent of Ishgar, one guild reigns supreme as the greatest: Fairy Tail. And in it is one of its star members, the Fire Dragon Slayer known as Natsu Dragneel. Although his initial goal was to search for his missing adoptive father Igneel, the Fire Dragon King, things changed as his journey progressed and more revelations came to light.

A rowdy hothead with a love for competition and an unwavering belief in the power of those he holds dear, Natsu’s story began 400 years before the events of the Fairy Tail series. He once lived peacefully with his parents and brother, before they were one day attacked by dragons. Natsu himself was killed in the dragon attack, and his brother was the only survivor. However, his brother threw himself into the study of the most esoteric, dark magic known to exist in order to revive him. His brother… was Zeref Dragneel. Cursed to be immortal and inadvertently kill those he cares about for interfering with the natural order of life and death, Zeref sought to die for his sins, and eventually revived Natsu as the ultimate demon to destroy him: Etherious Natsu Dragneel.

In addition, the threat of the Dragon King Acnologia loomed over the world. As such, Zeref hatched a plan with multiple others. He left Natsu in the care of Igneel, who would teach him Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. Anna Heartfilia, the ancestor of Lucy Heartfilia, would also teach him and other Dragon Slayers about academics and culture. In addition, Igneel would enter Natsu’s body with a spell to provide antibodies to prevent him from becoming a dragon. Then, after much preparation, Natsu and four other Dragon Slayers would be sent to the future through a device Zeref developed called the Eclipse Gate, to travel to a world rich in Ethernano so both they and their dragon parents could become strong enough to defeat Acnologia. In the end, though, Igneel himself perished in battle with Acnologia.

In the present, Natsu has undergone many adventures, facing the likes of dark guilds to demons to dragons. All the while, he has fought long and hard to protect the guild he calls family. He’s had his own struggles, such as the initial loss of his childhood friend Lisanna (before she was revealed to be alive), the death of his adoptive father Igneel, and his status as a demon. Nevertheless, he has persevered, choosing to live as a human and most recently overcoming the likes of Zeref and Acnologia for good. His attitude remains the same now, as he carries on into the 100 Years Quest, facing foes that could threaten the very world he lives in.

Asta

“I don’t need a reason to save someone’s life!”

In this world, magic is everything…

That is a lesson that has been engraved into the minds of all citizens in the Clover Kingdom - the strongest of them all being the Wizard King, a position sought after by many. One such person is the hot-blooded Asta, a peasant in the Forsaken Realm village of Hage. He and his childhood friend Yuno have aspired toward this position for years. While Yuno used Wind Magic, Asta’s magic seemed to have not developed yet, as he instead trained his physical body rigorously. However, on the day that both would receive their grimoires, Yuno received the four-leaf grimoire, a legendary kind of grimoire that cemented him as a magical prodigy. Meanwhile, Asta received… nothing.

Frustrated, Asta returned to his usual training. However, a magic-wielding bandit soon ambushed Yuno, hoping to steal his four-leaf grimoire and sell it for a high price. Asta intervened, but he was quickly overwhelmed. The mage revealed that it wasn’t that Asta’s magic hadn’t developed. But instead, he had no mana within him, meaning he was incapable of using any degree of magic. His dreams crushed, Asta was on the verge of giving up everything, until Yuno reinvigorated him with his declaration that the two will always be rivals. Asta returned to the fight, and suddenly, a grimoire floated down to him. The three leaves of a clover represent faith, hope, and love, while the fourth stands for good luck. However, this grimoire had a five-leaf clover, and within the fifth… lived the devil. Asta was bestowed the power of Anti-Magic via a sword that came from the grimoire, which let him use his lack of magic and immense physical strength to shut off opponents’ magic with his sword. With this, he quickly defeated the bandit, and he and Yuno reaffirmed their rivalry and their shared goal of becoming the Wizard King.

Despite this, only one Magic Knight Squad would accept him: the worst of them all, the Black Bulls. Despite this, Asta persevered, facing countless foes from terrorist organizations to even devils. All the while, the Black Bulls became more renowned than ever, and Asta himself harnessed his power better than ever before - using the power of a devil to gain recognition (and even scorn) as a formidable Magic Knight and a proper contender for the title of Wizard King.

It was also later revealed that the devil in his grimoire was a devil with no magic named Liebe, who scorned all other devils and was thrust out of the Underworld - before finding solace in none other than Asta’s own mother Licita, who died to protect him. The two would eventually become strong allies and even surrogate brothers, supporting each other in their aspirations. As Asta’s journey continues, he wishes to become the Wizard King to bridge the gap between the royals, nobles, commoners, peasants, and even non-humans. No matter what foe he faces, never giving up is his magic, and he will do all in his power to surpass his limits and become the Wizard King.

Experience & Skill

Natsu

Despite his hotheaded nature, Natsu has proven himself to be quite skilled in the art of battle on multiple occasions. Throughout his fights, he has shown to excel in both hand-to-hand combat and battles of magic - made more impressive given the fact that his only teacher was a literal dragon. Not only that, but he has displayed several feats of high combat IQ across the series.

For instance, in the span of the first part of Natsu and Gajeel’s battle with Sting and Rogue, Natsu was able to figure out all of Sting’s tells - from his attack timing, defense posture, and breathing patterns. With this in mind, he was able to easily overwhelm both Sting and Rogue in combat skill. He also excels in long-range combat, being able to fire attacks from distances he can’t see that precisely strike their targets.

Some other showcases of his combat intelligence show up in the 100 Years Quest manga as well. In one instance, he tricked Wolfen (who can copy the appearance and powers of those his target thinks of) into copying Zeref and using his curse against Aldoron to wither away at him. Lastly, despite being cut down in a single strike by Suzaku before, he was quickly able to devise a spell to counter it by their next encounter and completely adapt to Suzaku’s movements. His skill is enough, in fact, that Suzaku comments on his genius in battle and the swiftness to his thoughts in terms of combat sense.

Asta

Through the past 3 years, Asta fought through many battles and learned with many experienced fighters and as such, acquired a vast amount of battle knowledge. Asta is an expert swordsman, being under Fanzell Krueger’s teachings, who considered Asta one of his greatest students in a relatively short period of time, Asta is capable of matching blows with far more experienced swordfighters and mastered usage of all his different swords

Also, despite not appearing as such, Asta is indeed not a caveman that believes he just has to hit him. Really. Hard. He is a tactical genius, he’s capable of understanding his opponents abilities and how to react accordingly coming up with different kinds of strategies mid battle. He is also a fast learner, managing to learn how to utilize Ki shortly after being taught by Yami and managed to understand the inner workings of Zetten by just watching the Ryuzen seven during training.

Equipment

Natsu

Igneel’s Scarf

A scarf knitted together by Anna Heartfilia using Igneel’s molted scales, Natsu always wears this scarf to remember his foster father. The scarf is white, decorated with scale-like patterns, and serves as a good luck charm of sorts, warding off misfortune. When Natsu was hit by Zeref's Ankhseram Black Magic, the scarf served as his shield, but the exposure to the Magic caused it to turn black. During the time it was tainted, Wendy was unable to heal Natsu, so, in order to heal him, she had to reverse and remove the evil spell on the scarf.

Asta

Grimoire

Every Mage in the Clover Kingdom (and most others, really) come with a fancy Grimoire tied directly to their soul. Their main purpose is to store the specific spells that a Mage develops, allowing them to be able to use their greatest techniques at all times. Asta's Grimoire is a special case, however. It was originally a Four-Leaf Grimoire (saved for only the best of the best) owned by Licht, the leader of the Elf Tribe. However, during the Massacre of the Elves, the despair that Licht felt transformed his Grimoire into a Five-Leaf Grimoire, one that would persist after the owner's death and serve as a vessel for Devils. The book served as the home of Liebe (more on him later), before finding itself in the hands of Asta, giving him access to some of Licht's spells.

Liebe

(imagine being your own Brother’s equipment lol) Liebe is the low ranking devil that resides within Asta’s grimoire and the source of Asta’s anti magic, while Asta is fighting, Liebe stays on his shoulder as a small chibi form of himself. Not only is Liebe capable of manipulating Asta’s swords through his anti magic, but he also can talk to Asta through their connected minds, exchanging strategies and discussing their enemies.

Demon-Slayer Sword

Aren’t swords supposed to be sharp???

The first sword that Asta ever wielded, coming straight from his Grimoire itself. Like all of Asta's swords, Demon-Slayer is permanently imbued with Anti-Magic, being able to cleanly “slice” through magic, be it in the form of projectiles or special defenses. Uniquely, the flat part can be used to deflect magical attacks, the hilt can be used to dispel magic that affects the mind by touching the head of whoever was a victim, and Asta can freely control the Anti-Magic within the sword to make it freely fly through the air, usually as a means of transportation. In fact, thanks to Asta's physiology, aka lack of magic, he's the only one that can hold the swords as they absorb magic. The sword can absorb the magic of someone if they're stabbed, or even if they're simply touching it. He can also throw it like a spear. Here are a variety of instances of the types of magic the negating magic edge has nullified;

• Slashes through a spatial magic, cut through Langris’ space magic

• Can cut through magic mists and even wind spells from Yuno

• By hitting himself with his own blade, Asta removed a curse from his wound

• Cancels a barrier protecting people from memory probes

• Negates Poizot’s transparency magic

• Canceled a spell from Vetto

• Has nullified numerous elemental magic spells such as fire, ice, water bullets, plants, lightning bolts, or smoke

• Destroyed mineral armor from Mars, even canceling his flame-based healing

• Neutralized Noelle’s water magic when it got out of control

Demon-Dweller Sword

Found by Asta in the confines of a Dungeon, the Demon-Dweller Sword comes with the same magic-cutting abilities, but with a unique twist! It was created with the purpose of absorbing magical power from others before unleashing it with a flying slash, something Asta is still very much capable of doing, but even without magic from others, Asta can still fill the sword up with Anti-Magic to reach the same result. He can even do the opposite, lending Anti-Magic to his allies to power them up. The power of friendship! (fun fact this is the sword Asta originally used in the chapter 0 of the series). It also boosts Asta’s speed!

Demon-Destroyer Sword

The third of Asta’s swords obtained during the fight against Patry at the Gravito rock zone dungeon. Unlike the previous two swords which can only negate active spells, this sword has a unique ability: Causality Break. By severing the relationship of cause-and-effect, this sword summons tendrils of anti magic that, upon touching its target, not only negates the magic of anything it touches but also effects caused by magic. The sword is not only capable of undoing biological damage such as damaged tissue caused by magical poison but also cancelling the effects of reincarnation magic. Demon Destroyer is also able to reach into a person’s soul, even capable of interacting with it directly, however with the detail that Asta will feel all the emotions and experience from the memories of its target.

Demon-Slasher Katana

A blade that Asta obtained from his Magic Knight Captain, Yami Sukehiro. It does the same magic-cutting stuff that the other three do, but its special ability allows Asta to consciously choose what he cuts. Even if an ally happens to be in harm's way, if Asta wills it, they will be left completely unhurt by Asta's attacks.

Abilities

Natsu

Fire Dragon Slayer Magic

Natsu’s bread and butter is his Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. As the name implies, this ability was honed to utilize fire and to slay dragons. It grants Natsu the attributes of a Fire Dragon ranging from enhanced physical abilities to both breathing and eating fire. Below are respective techniques known by Natsu and general abilities of this type of magic.

Fire Manipulation: Users of Fire Dragon Slayer Magic are able to control and generate flames from any part of their body to be used for combat, flight, or any other general purpose you’d need fire for. In addition, they have shown control of these flames to such a degree their composition can be changed into a tangible force while still retaining its burning nature.

Fire Consumption: Like other Dragon Slayers, Natsu is able to consume his respective element to gain a recharge and boost in energy. However, the source of the flames cannot be Natsu’s own, nor a fire caused by them. This makes the ability more situational, but incredibly useful when viable.

Fire Dragon’s Roar: Inhaling a large breath, Natsu forms his hands like a trumpet in front of his mouth and breathes a large torrent of flames in front of him, though he can simply let the roar spread wildly in front of him without the focus of his hands as well.
Fire Dragon’s Claw: Igniting his feet with his flames, Natsu amplifies his kicks to have more range and destructive power behind them, as well as jet propelling him for extra speed, which even works in water!
Fire Dragon’s Iron Fist: Engulfing his fists in flames, Natsu can deliver a devastating punch with one or both hands, with further elemental enhancement increasing the size dramatically.  He can also propel himself faster while running using this technique.
Fire Dragon’s Wing Attack: Coating his arms in flame, Natsu delivers sweeping clotheslines to his foes, the flames on his arms beating like the wings of a dragon.
Fire Dragon’s Sword Horn: Letting his entire body engulf in flame, Natsu dives forward and becomes a spear of flame, delivering a vicious headbutt to his enemy.

Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade: One of Natsu’s Secret Arts - moves that are stronger than his normal spells. Natsu swipes his arms in a circular fashion, creating a powerful, and highly destructive, torrent of flames that barrages his target. Natsu habitually uses this spell as a finishing move, having employed against Laxus Dreyar at the end of their battle, used against Gildarts Clive as a finisher, which, notably, caused the mighty Mage to take a few steps back, and once more against Sting Eucliffe and Rogue Cheney, with which he completely overpowered the two, who were in Dragon Force, defeating them.

Elemental Consumption: Though Natsu’s primary element of his Dragon Slayer magic is fire, he may consume elements other than his own to combine with his own fire magic, such as when he consumed Laxus’ lightning to make Lightning Fire Dragon Mode.

Enhanced Senses

Due to his dragon slayer physiology, Natsu’s senses are all greatly enhanced. His hearing allowed him to find Lucy despite being in the stands while she was in the arena, despite the stadium being full of people, commentators speaking on a loudspeaker as well. His smell is enhanced enough to sniff out a knockout drug, and can track someone he met only some time ago.

Transformation Magic 

This magic allows its caster to change their appearance. While this Magic is a deep and complex art, basic Transformation Magic is relatively easy for Mages to learn. Natsu has mastered the rudimentary skills of Transformation Magic. He was able to successfully transform into Lucy on his second try. However, he hardly uses this in combat, and the one time he attempted to failed spectacularly.

                                        Thought Projection Magic                                      

During his battle against Wraith, a Dragon Slayer from the guild Diabolos, Natsu’s soul was separated from his body. Thankfully, after a strange meeting with his memory of Zeref deep within his subconscious, Natsu learned how to utilize Thought Projection and give his soul a physical form. This Thought Projection of Natsu was capable of damaging Wraith, a Spirit Dragon Slayer who was otherwise intangible, and phase through objects. However, after the fight against Wraight, Natsu completely forgot how to use this at all and has never remembered how to use it in combat.

Asta

Anti-Magic

A form of energy completely separate from magic that Asta gained from Liebe and his Grimoire. As the name implies, the primary function of Anti-Magic is to nullify all forms of Magic. Asta can also use Anti-Magic to fly.

Ki Sensing

Ki is defined as the flow of life energy within the bodies of all living beings, Ki is directly tied with a person’s emotions and thought and as such, dictate their actions and intents, through Yami’s teachings, Asta learned Ki sensing, which allows Asta to predict upcoming attacks and movements from enemies and even detect the exact location of individuals even when invisible. It also can act as a natural lie detector. With further training, Asta is capable of predicting even non living entities like inanimate objects and events from nature, such as falling magma rocks from a volcano.

Bull Thrust

After launching himself through the air, Asta holds both the Demon Slayer and Demon Dweller in front of himself and damages anything in its way like a charging bull. When challenging anti magic, Asta can also use only one of the swords with a variation of the same attack referred to as One-Horn Bull thrust.

Black Meteorite

While in Black Asta form, Asta launches himself towards his target, delivering a powerful slash upon making contact. Asta is also able to change directions regardless of the speed he is currently travelling.

Black Hurricane

In his Black Asta form, Asta spins rapidly while holding the Demon Slayer sword, engulfing anything in its surroundings with anti magic. This attack is even capable of dispelling the spell of an entire battlefield covered in magic.

Demon Slayer Sword: Black Divider

By condensing anti magic to the edges of the Demon Slayer sword, Asta can extend the size and reach of the blade several times over, allowing for Asta to give massive swings from a much further distance.

Demon-Dweller Sword: Black Slash

Asta fills the Demon Dweller sword with anti magic and swings it, releasing the energy as flying slashes that cut through magic, still carrying enough force to knock opponents down. Asta can make consecutive slashes in a roll.

Demon Slasher: Infinite Slash Equinox

Asta charges anti magic energy into the Demon Slasher Katana, unleashing a powerful and massive slash wave that can travel for miles without losing its edge, choosing what it will and won’t cut in its path (it’s also the coolest and hypest attack ever, that is a fact).

Zetten

During his time in the Hino country, Asta, in search of ways to become stronger against his eventual second encounter with Lucius, was introduced and taught the advanced Ki technique known as Zetten. By precisely manipulating his Ki, the Asta builds up anti magic within his bodies and concentrate into a single point of his limbs, then, by performing a physical motion such as a punch, kick or swing of his sword, Asta explosively releases his anti magic, releasing a focused blast of energy many times stronger than a normal attack Asta could perform. Asta can also split said built up anti magic equally among multiple attacks, but the attacks will be weaker.

When released as a single attack, Zetten multiplies the user’s Ki 20 times over.

Resistances

Natsu 

Fire Manipulation

As the Fire Dragon Slayer, Natsu is completely immune to most forms of fire manipulation, taking no damage from fire attacks and even being able to eat fire to replenish his stamina. The extent of this resistance is to the same degree as the heat of his own flames, which can reach over 200 million degrees Celsius.

Lightning Manipulation

After consuming Laxus’s lightning and gaining access to his Lightning Flame Dragon Mode, Natsu also became immune to most forms of lightning manipulation. Much like with fire, he can even eat lightning to replenish his stamina.

Soul Manipulation

Despite the demon Franmalth’s attempts to absorb Natsu’s soul from him, he resisted this through his sheer willpower - focusing on what is most precious to him to keep his soul intact.

Memory Manipulation

Despite Lucy being under the effects of a potion that eventually caused her existence to disappear from everyone’s minds, causing them to forget she ever existed, Natsu was able to remember her.

Death Manipulation

Thanks to Igneel’s scarf, Natsu is able to withstand Zeref’s Death Predation, which instantly steals life from and kills whatever it touches. The scarf is able to absorb the attack in his place, tainting it black.

Existence Erasure

Natsu was able to withstand and then burn his way out of Genesis Zero, a spell that consumes its target’s memory, soul, and even their very existence.

Asta

Magic

Asta is capable of resisting magic to a significant amount, being able to cut, reflect and negate them entirely, even being able to channel anti magic through his body to negate the effects of any coming spells, be it in his unite form or using the demon destroyer sword.

The variety of spells Asta is able to negate is vast, from elemental spells to magic that is capable of warping space such as Zagred’s Trident and magic from the high ranking devils Lilith and Naamah, which are able to destroy concepts that don’t physically exist.

Information Analysis

Asta adopted the fighting style of the priest of the seabed Temple, Kaito. His fighting style was based around unconsciously putting himself in a trance, making it so opponents can’t predict his movements.

Life Force Absorption

Asta was able to ignore Zagred’s magic absorbing spell, which is capable of absorbing life energy.

Madness Manipulation

As part of the drawback of the Demon Destroyer sword, Asta felt Patry’s despair and insanity caused by Zagred’s words, and ultimately managed to resist it.

Possession

Asta managed to resist Liebe’s attempt to take over his body.

Temperature Manipulation

Asta in his black Asta form is capable of resisting the high temperatures of a volcano grand magic zone which has temperatures so high it’s impossible to explore without the protective coat of mana in the form of mana skin.

Time Manipulation

Asta was able to transform into Black Asta within Lucius Chronostasis, which freezes time within it.

Fear Manipulation

Asta managed to resist and overpower Yrul’s beast magic Boogeyman, which manifests it’s target’s greatest fear.

Precognition

Lucius, despite being capable of foreseeing the future of thousands of timelines, is incapable of seeing the future of the reality he’s currently in due to Asta’s influence.

Forms

Natsu

Lightning Flame Dragon Mode

After consuming Laxus’s lightning in the battle against Hades, Natsu gained the ability to use lightning in conjunction with his fire. Although this form initially took a toll on his stamina, he has since overcome this weakness after having his Second Origin unlocked. He also gains access to moves such as:

• Lightning Fire Dragon's Roar: Natsu's alternate, lightning-enhanced version of his "Fire Dragon's Roar." Natsu gathers and combines lightning and fire in his mouth, subsequently releasing them in a large, destructive, sparking blast. This spell is capable of traveling great distances, wreaking havoc wherever it passes, as shown when it crossed half of Tenrou Island, generating a large explosion. A single use is enough to heavily strain Natsu's body and completely drain him of all his Magic Power; however, this lessened over time.

• Lightning Fire Dragon's Iron Fist: Natsu's alternate version of his Fire Dragon's Iron Fist. Natsu engulfs his hand in lightning and flame, and, in addition to being burned after being struck, his opponents are also struck by a bolt of lightning.

• Lightning Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame: Natsu's alternate, more powerful version of his Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame. Natsu engulfs his left hand in lightning and his right hand in flames, and, after bringing the two together, generates a large, destructive, sparking blast around his opponent.

• Lightning Fire Dragon's Firing Hammer: Natsu engulfs his fist and forearm in fire and lightning and devastatingly strikes his opponent. Even with its power diffused by Minerva's defense, it was still strong enough to blow away most of the top floor of a large building.

• Crimson Lotus: Exploding Lightning Blade: Natsu's alternate, lighting-enhanced version of his Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade. Natsu engulfs one hand in lightning and the other in flames. By swinging his arms around, Natsu creates a highly destructive vortex of fire and lightning, which greatly damages the opponent and pushes them away with tremendous force. This spell is powerful enough to defeat the almighty Guild Master of Grimoire Heart, Hades, in a single hit.

Lightning Dragon Mode

If he loses his ability to use his Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, Natsu is able to utilize exclusively the lightning from his Lightning Fire Dragon Mode, incorporating lightning onto his body and performing lightning variations of his original Dragon Slayer spells. While in this mode, he also gains a lightning bolt-shaped scar on his right eye similar to Laxus’. Some moves of his include:

• Lightning Dragon's Sword Horn: Natsu shrouds his body with lightning, then pounces forward with incredible force, delivering a powerful headbutt attack while simultaneously shocking the struck target.

• Lightning Dragon's Iron Fist: Natsu engulfs one of his fists in lightning and punches the target, causing sheer blunt damage.

Black Fire Dragon Mode

After absorbing the flames of Dark Regulus from Eclipse Leo, Natsu is capable of combining these flames with their own for destructive effects. While consumption of the flames of Dark Regulus rendered Natsu temporarily immobile, he soon recovered and became able to use the form at will. Some attacks he gains access to include:

• Exploding Flame Blade of Darkness: After absorbing the flames of Dark Regulus, Natsu can use Eclipse Leo's spell to blast away his opponents by combining his own flames with the dark ones.

• Hidden Fire Form - Darkness Phoenix Blade: An alternate version of Crimson Lotus: Phoenix Blade, Natsu gathers the flames of his Fire Dragon Slayer Magic and the dark flames of Dark Regulus in his hand, and then cloaks his body in the aforementioned flames before rushing at his target of desire.

Fire Dragon King Mode

After training for one year following the battle against Tartaros, Natsu became capable of using the last of Igneel’s flames that were left to him. Although he can no longer use the full might of the power given to him, he can still use his own flames as a substitute, allowing for a form that’s still much stronger than the likes of his Base Form and Lightning Flame Dragon Mode - managing feats like vaporizing a massive lake from its sheer heat and defeating a Spriggan 12 member in one hit. Some of his attacks in this form include:

• Fire Dragon King's Destruction Fist: Natsu first charges his fist, releasing a huge amount of fire in the process. After a brief delay, he punches his target with immense force so strong, in fact, that it shatters even the biggest of his foes to pieces.

• Fire Dragon King's Roar: An enhanced and empowered version of his Fire Dragon's Roar, that Natsu used to take down an entire battalion's worth of soldiers of the Alvarez Empire and destroyed a vast space of earth in the process.

• Fire Dragon King's Purgatory: Natsu releases a huge amount of fire all over his body while intensely burning his target and everything around him before creating a spherical explosion.

• Fire Dragon King's Brilliant Flame: Natsu charges up a dark ball of fire from his palms and focuses the blast in the direction of his target. While being empowered by a Fire Dragon God-induced Dragon Force, Natsu was able to use this spell to overpower Mercphobia's Water Dragon God's Roar.

• Fire Dragon King's Scales: Natsu covers part of his arms with dragon scales, increasing their defense and durability. These scales are durable enough to block direct attacks from Suzaku, and even tank his Kurnugi Style Sword Drawing Art Abyss: Underworld Black Purgatory Slash, which was strong enough to defeat Selene's Human Form.

E.N.D Form

When the mass of magic in his chest expanded and he felt an extreme surge of sadness, grief, and rage, Natsu transformed into the demon E.N.D (Etherious Natsu Dragneel). Like all Etherious, his desire to kill his creator in Zeref is activated; however, he still retains his ability to think and function properly to his will. His arms and facial features become more demonic, and his flames gain a darker appearance, while his attack power also increases. He has been seen to control it at will when he deactivated it after Erza stopped his battle with Gray. This power has been described as surpassing even the gods, and it enabled Natsu to freely move even in Dimaria’s Age Seal - a spell granted to her by the god of time Chronos that is able to completely stop time. As an Etherious, Natsu also uses Curse Power as opposed to Magic Power, and he retains his existing attacks (albeit with a demonic tint) along with the following:

• Get Out of There: Natsu slams his fist into the ground and creates multiple fire pillars from the ground and onto his target.

Note: This form is not a standard form for Natsu, as him destroying the Demon Seed within himself means that he most likely can no longer use it.

Dragon Force

Dragon Force is the final and most powerful state a Dragon Slayer can attain, and it has been said that their power becomes comparable to that of a real Dragon's. Dragon Force greatly increases the damage done by standard Dragon Slayer spells, and grants the user access to more advanced, powerful attacks. It also greatly enhances the user's physical prowess, speed, and considerably boosts their Magic Power, which becomes visible, taking the appearance of a Dragon. More specifically, Dragon Force boosts the user’s power, speed, and durability by 3 to 4 times.

Dragon Force can be achieved by absorbing substances with powerful magical properties, such as Etherion or the Flame of Rebuke. In his battle with Mard Geer at the end of the war with Tartaros, Natsu showed the ability to enter Dragon Force at will, which he demonstrated again when battling Zeref and God Seed Aldoron. In X792, this form gave Natsu the magic power to even burn away the mighty Zeref’s Ankhseram Black Magic. In X793, the form was powerful enough to defeat an only somewhat weakened God Seed Aldoron, whose full power is equal to the mighty Acnologia’s. It was in this time as well that it was revealed his Dragon Force takes on the properties of the flames he’s taken in from other dragons, such as Igneel, Atlas Flame, and even Ignia. This form retains all of Natsu’s existing attacks, along with few additional ones such as:

• Hidden Fire Form - Crimson Lotus: Phoenix Blade: Natsu ignites his entire body with fire, and then charges towards the target, sending them into the air with a sharp uppercut. Natsu then, in a similar manner to Fire Dragon's Sword Horn, headbutts his target. This spell appears to be one of Natsu's strongest, as it was able to overpower Zero's strongest spell, Genesis Zero, something that Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade could not. This destructively unstoppable spell was used to defeat Zero.

• Purgatory Slashing Dragon Fire: Natsu ignites his fist with intense swirling flames and then charges at his opponent and punching them. The attack produces a powerful explosion, with the resulting complete attack being strong enough to pierce through the bodies of the God Seed Aldoron and the Wood Dragon God, whilst simultaneously incinerating his target to ashes.

Dragonization

In the battle against Animus, Natsu showed the ability to undergo Dragonization, turning him closer to a full dragon. In this form, Natsu becomes more dragon-like by gaining a dragon claw, wing, and horn, while also having half his body get covered in dragon scales. While in this form, Natsu can fly at extreme speeds, and his fire can turn a blue shade. Natsu's power in this form is such that he can completely overpower an Animus who had absorbed some of the Dragon Cry's power. It is also potentially stronger than his Dragon Force, as it is a further stage of the Dragonization than the former. Unlike most Dragonizations, Natsu did not stay in this form and all the features of the transformation reverted after he defeated Animus.

Note: This form is not a standard form for Natsu, as him destroying the Dragon Seed within himself means that he most likely can no longer use it (unlike Dragon Force, which he has shown to still be able to use).

Flames of Emotion

As noted by Erigor early in the series, Natsu wields a power known as the Flames of Emotion - in which his power responds to his emotional state. As noted by Ignia, his power grows in response to his own emotions, which can lead to unprecedented surges of power under the right circumstances. This was best showcased in the final battle against Zeref, who had gained the power of Fairy Heart and the Space Between Time. Although his Dragon Force proved ineffective, Natsu’s emotional state afterwards led to a surge of power that allowed him to overpower and defeat the godlike Zeref, even halting his ability to heal and being stated to burn through time itself. However, it is not without consequence. Even besides its situational usage, only seeing use incredibly sparingly, it causes significant damage to Natsu himself - as Zeref noted he was setting his own soul on fire and Natsu’s arm was significantly damaged from the form’s sheer power after the fight.

This is currently the strongest form Natsu is capable of using without any outside help.

Asta

Black Asta

After the witch queen removed the limitations of Asta’s anti magic, Asta learned to channel his power through his body by standing still and concentrating on circulating it within himself, attaining a form where Asta spreads anti magic through his body and even covering his right side, the Black Asta form.

In this form, Asta’s strength and speed greatly increases, along with granting him flight. This form also clears Asta’s mind, described by him as “being in a cold lake”. The new flow of anti magic Asta received also targets and homes in on mana, meaning Asta does not have to consciously react to any attacks. The overflowing anti magic also means that magic surrounding him will be destroyed.

If Asta is filled with malice and anger, Asta gains a new variation of the Black Asta form, Anti Magic covers his body, becoming more fiery in appearance, covering more of his face, turning his right hand and foot into claws, and gaining a small second wing in his left side. In this form, Asta’s strength and speed vastly increases, managing to keep up and even caught off guard Dante Zogratis using 50% devil power. His Demon Slayer also takes a different shape, becoming akin to a wip that can attack enemies from a distance. Finally, upon sacrificing his right arm to Liebe, Asta managed to become even stronger while on this form, as previously, Black Asta was described by Liebe as just “him dribbling power into Asta”, while after sacrificing his right arm, it became the power of anti magic itself, as such, his powers are greatly enhanced.

Devil Union

After creating a mutual pact with Liebe sharing their powers as equals, Asta and Liebe went into training with Black bulls vice captain Nacht Faust, and after a couple days, learned to unite their their desires as one in search of a common goal, learning Unite, or most commonly known by fans as Devil Union. All of Asta powers become many times enhanced than before, shown by how his previous form at its peak managed to keep up with Dante utilizing 80% of his devil power, while with Unite, Asta managed to easily defeat Naamah and Lilith, which were described to be even stronger than Dante using 100% devil power. Later, upon witnessing all of Liebe’s memories and coming to understand Liebe’s true feelings, Asta and Liebe became true brothers and achieved True Devil Union, eliminating any previous grudges to defeat the enemy before them, being so strong that Lucifero with 60% of his original power couldn’t overcome it. In this form, Asta also completely shuts off the magic of anything he touches. Such as when he ignored Lucifero’s gravity enhanced punch.

This form has drawbacks however, as Asta can only use it for 5 minutes before experiencing pain through his body and not be able to use it nor Black Asta form for 5 minutes, however after a full year, Asta learned to concentrate Union on specific parts of his body rather than fully covering him, becoming denser and stronger and extending his usage to 10 minutes.

However Asta has done better overall against said enemies compared to Noelle.

Yami Sukehiro and Mereleona Vermillion

Yami Sukehiro is the captain of the Black Bulls, Asta’s mentor and by far the strongest of all the magic knight captains, consistently being able to fight opponents the other captains struggled and barely could keep up in the first place. Mereoleona Vermillion might not have stayed a captain for long, but much like Yami, she fought and defeated opponents that other characters of the verse could barely fight, such as defeating a demon that not even the original wizard king could truly kill, and being one of the few who managed to stall Lucifero and one shotting Paladin Morris. Asta has shown to consistently outstat both of them ever since the defeat of Lucifero, so he should reasonably upscale from both of them.

Weaknesses

Natsu

Although Natsu is a destructive force of nature, he still has his setbacks. As a Dragon Slayer, Natsu is prone to severe motion sickness when placed on any form of transportation. Fire Magic is inherently weak against Water Magic. Although Natsu’s flames can be hot enough to vaporize even water, his battle with Kiria in Ermina showed that water can prevent his magic from even igniting if he is already in it. In addition, he does have a tendency to fight recklessly with little regard for prior strategy. He also cannot use his own Fire Dragon Slayer Magic to replenish his magic supply, and his nigh-invulnerability to fire can be bypassed with higher orders of Fire Magic, like Fire God Slayer Magic. Lastly, Natsu’s Flames of Emotion will actually hurt Natsu himself if used to an extraordinarily high degree.

Asta

As powerful as Asta’s anti magic is, it still is a counter to magic first and foremost, meaning it’s possible to bypass it through physical strength, which is how Lucius managed to nearly kill him. What’s more, his devil forms also still have their time limits which will leave Asta incapacitated, even after Asta learned to extend said forms to 10 minutes. It’s also important to note that Asta’s desire to become stronger can be detrimental to him, as due to his own self doubt, he tried many times to rush his own development instead of thinking through, such as during his training with Yosuga who pointed out that Asta’s own doubt caused him to hesitate during combat.

Before The Verdicts

The Eclipse Celestial Spirits Arc

The Fairy Tail anime has an arc that does not appear in the manga, called the Eclipse Celestial Spirits Arc. In this arc, Fairy Tail faces off against corrupted Celestial Spirits, including a corrupted Celestial Spirit King. The King, in particular, has numerous feats ranging from creating constellations to threatening to destroy the entire Celestial Spirit World. Natsu also has a feat of merging 12 pocket dimensions with his magic power, one of which contains a Sun. These would all be feats in the Stellar to Universal+ range.

However, all these feats were not used for this blog. Initially, it was because the Eclipse Celestial Spirits Arc was not considered canon to the main story, as the manga did not have this arc. However, 100 Years Quest recently canonized it by bringing back Gottfried, a spell only performed in that arc - including it being casted by Lucy, Yukino, and Hisui. Despite this, the feats have still been dismissed, as they are outliers. Later opponents like the Spriggan 12 and Acnologia were feared for their country and planet-destroying powers, respectively, making the feats of that Arc inconsistent with the power progression of the story.

Even then, the overall feats aren't literal, planets in the dimensions are the size of planets, and the similar logic likely applies to the stars.

Fairy Heart Zeref

Upon absorbing Fairy Heart, an infinite source of magic that verbatim will never run out, Zeref was stated to have gained infinite magic power. Despite this, though, Fairy Heart Zeref has not been rated at High Universal attack potency in this blog. To begin with, it is likely that “infinite magic” simply refers to his reserves, rather than the amount of power he can output at once.

One may also call attention to his use of the spell Neo Eclipse in this form, which was going to cause a time reset - wiping out the current timeline and replacing it with Zeref’s own. Despite this being a spell of Universal+ potency, though, it does not scale to Fairy Heart Zeref’s normal statistics. The reason for this is that this spell requires combining the powers of both Fairy Heart and the Space Between Time, rather than just using Fairy Heart.

In addition, scaling either of these ratings to Fairy Heart Zeref’s normal statistics would be a massive outlier for the verse, as Zeref in this state is compared to the likes of Dragon Form Acnologia, who is hyped up as being able to destroy Fairy Tail’s planet rather than anything more.

Dorothy's Glamour World

In Chapter 184 of Black Clover, many of the Black Bulls are sent to Glamour World by Reve, the elf possessing Dorothy at the time. Luck notes that Glamour World is endless, and although Magna claims that’s impossible, Reve corroborates Luck’s statement by stating that Glamour World makes the impossible possible. Sally even adds that Glamour World might be the biggest spell any mage could possibly create. It seems clear, then, that Dorothy would have High Universal attack potency via creating Glamour World through her own magic power.

However, the fact of the matter is that this feat is a massive outlier for the series. Not a single character in Black Clover, even stronger ones than Dorothy, has been able to perform a feat of nearly the same caliber. Demon Licht was hyped up as being able to destroy the Clover Kingdom, which is a country. Later on, Lucifero received hype for being able to destroy the world, and stronger characters than Dorothy struggled against both of these opponents. As such, it does not make sense for anyone to scale to this level of power in Black Clover. The feat has not been used for this very reason.

Gauche's Mirror Magic

A member of the Black Bulls, Gauche is a Magic Knight who uses a type of magic called mirror magic. Mirror Magic lets him use beams that reflect off of mirrors. They look like lasers, reflect and burn as well, so it seems like they're lightspeed right? 

Well no it's likely not lightspeed. The beam shows force multiple times like when he first used them on Asta to try and kill him. There's also the fact that he's been blitzed by Patri, who uses light magic. Even when Gauche reflected a Ray of Divine Judgment from Patri, he explicitly says that he couldn't see the attack itself, meaning that his beams are more than likely not Lightspeed.

Demon Size

In Black Clover, there are giant demons that are pretty big. You might notice there being a decent jump in AP for their calc. This is because their sizes are very inconsistent throughout the series even when they're supposed to be the same demon a character or characters are fighting. The calc that is used here is a highball of the demons’ sizes. Overall, the calc used for them uses the different sizes that we calc'd for them, and despite that, it will not affect the verdict as there are better feats in Black Clover that matter overall.

Dante's Gravity Singularity

In Chapter 256 of Black Clover, Yami fights Dante, one of the Dark Triad, who launches an attack called Gravity Singularity,  which blows a hole through the Mountain. A Gravity Singularity, more specifically called a Gravitational Singularity, is the core of a Black Hole. And has been calc'd at 281 Zettatons of TNT, or Planet+/Planetary. Regards of it being a black hole overall seem fine as Dante's magic is Gravity magic, which we see affect energy attacks like Gauche's Beams, along with being shown that Dante's control over Gravity have been able to warp space.

The problem with the feat Dante doing the feat is a  5 times difference from the biggest feat in Black Clover, that being Lucifero being a threat to the planet, which is baseline planet level. Dante is a significantly weaker character doing the feat as he's below Devils like Naamah and Lilith, 2 high ranking devils that are also below Lucifero. So there are some issues with the feat, in which narratively it’s going against the biggest feat by the strongest character at the time. But an argument you can make for this feat being applicable is that it's power coming directly from Lucifero. Lucifero's magic is Gravity magic and Dante's power comes from Lucifero sharing said magic power. It's due to a devil binding, where the host gains power from the devils directly, so Dante is using magic power from Lucifero himself. There's another argument to be made where it's only a 5 times difference in ap, along with there being worse gaps in feats done by weaker characters that stronger characters are above yet don't have the feats to show in fiction 

Overall there's some arguments to be made for and against Dante's Black hole feat but it's up to how you would feel about using it.

Verdict

Stats

The Salamander of the Fairy Tail Guild kicks it off with his very own direct feats. Natsu is able to evaporate Lake Scilliora, a feat worth 9.7 Gigatons of TNT. This isn't even half of what the Dragon Slayer is capable of, as he's able to create large pillars of flames on the Wood God Aldoron, which can range from 128 Megatons of TNT - 22 Teratons of TNT. Now so far Natsu is Mountain to Country, but we can go a little bit higher than that now can we? Natsu is able to be scaled to the Phoenix, a being that was able to absorb magic of all living things in the world to  destroy the surface of the planet, which can range from 368 Exatons of TNT to 390 Zettatons of TNT. Natsu is currently above the latter feat mentioned as it happened way before 100 Year Quest, and the Spriggans were stated to be above anything else that Fairy Tail had fought up until that point. Now you might think that's the limit for Natsu, well it's far from it. Natsu has directly fought the Dragon Gods like Aldoron, who is comparable to another Dragon by the name of Selene who made the moon bigger. A feat worth 2.7 Yottatons of TNT which is 40+ times into planet level. But the biggest feat that Natsu can scale to via Dragon God scaling, is Acnologia being stated to destroy the entire world, which is worth 4 Yottatons of TNT or Large Planet level. In conclusion, Natsu would be Multi-Continental to Small Planet just based off of scaling to Characters like Erza, and Planet+ to Large Planet. And it's best to keep in mind that Natsu is able to fight Dragon Gods currently in base form, so base form Natsu would be at this level.

Moving on to the Anti-Magic Knight of the Black Bulls, Asta's own direct feats are impressive in their own right. Asta has stopped an Ice Ball Attack from Nanalilith, which has been calc'd at 27 Gigatons of TNT, or island level. However, like his main line that he uses throughout the series, he's not done yet! Asta was able to slice a 5-Headed Dragon that dwarves mountains, said slice was able to split the skies, which has been calc'd at 17 Petatons of TNT. But the highest feat from Asta himself is destroying a massive meteor who destroyed Conrad's Doom Gate Spell, which has been calc'd at 2.4 Exatons of TNT, extremely high end Multi-Continental. Now just when you think Asta can't get any higher, let's talk about the villains that he's fought. Asta is able to fight The Highest Devil of them all, Lucifero, who's been stated to be a threat to the planet itself, which is baseline planet level. But we can go a little higher than that as Dante, a member of the Dark Triad who's also Lucifero's host meaning that it's coming from Lucifero's power, who's able to create a black hole which has a lot of factors to get multiple numbers on it. Dante moving the Black Hole is calc'd at around 121 Exatons of TNT, which is four times Moon Level. However the Black Hole itself would be around 281 Zettatons of TNT, or 5 times Planet Level. Lucifero is above this as it's shown that the devils are above the Devil Hosts. So in conclusion, Asta would be Island to Multi-Continental based on his own feats, scaling wise he'd be Planet to Planet+ level. Similar to Natsu, Asta would be currently equal to this in Base form as he's said to be stronger than when he first fought Lucifero when fighting Lucius. And has gotten even higher when he's learned Zetten. 

So comparing them both side by side, Natsu would be 67 times stronger than Asta, comparing the destroying the world statements for both series - Acnologia and . Using the higher ends, Selene’s moon feat and Dante's feats, Natsu would still be over 10 times stronger, and using the Phoenix Priestess, would be stronger as well; he’d upscale this number as well.. Now it may seem like a clear cut stomp when looking at the feats both as they are right now, but then you have to realize that both are equal to these feats in base form, meaning there's more to talk about out how high both would properly get.

For Natsu, his Fire Lightning Dragon Mode is 2 times stronger than his Base, whereas his Dragon Force is a 4 times increase. Applying Dragon Force to Acnologia's feat, Natsu would be at 16 Yottatons of TNT. As for Asta, it's obvious that he's above Dante's Black Hole, but by how much? Well Dante was at 80% when he did the Black feat, meaning that going from 80 to 100 would be a 1.25 times increase. Asta even during the arc is above 100% Dante with Devil Union, which is proven by how he's killed Lilith and Nahamah, but there isn't a proper way to fully say how much stronger he is than Dante. But luckily there are other multipliers to use to get a proper way to see how strong Asta would be. When Lucifero first showed up, he wasn't fully manifested but is still considered above 100% Dante. When he fought Zora, he used trap magic to double Lucifero’s punch, which Lucifero matched and even outmatched. This adds a 2 times multiplier, which then we would add another 2 times multiplier due to fully manifested Dante, which Asta would scale to currently. We then come to the final multiplier number, that being Zetton, which according to Asta himself is a 20 times increase based on his Ki Reading. With all that in mind, Asta would finally be at 28 Yottatons of TNT when using Zetten.

So in conclusion, Asta is only 1.7 times stronger than Natsu while using Zetten, and would otherwise be, applying the multipliers for both. Now although Asta is stronger, he isn't strong enough by a good enough margin to overwhelm Natsu, in fact they're overall comparable as it isn't a 2 times difference.

Now we talk about speed. Like before, let's compare their base forms and add the multipliers.

Natsu is currently above pretty much every feat in the original series, so let's see what he's equal to. Natsu is able to dodge Sting's laser, which gets to 0.09c or 9% the Speed of Light. But that's nothing compared to what he can scale to, like Selene being able to blitz Haku, or Erza cutting a particle cannon. Said particle cannon cut would get around 10x the speed of light. Haku is stated to move at the speed of light, and Selene blitzed them, which gets to 30.34c or 30 times the speed of light. Applying this to Natsu's Dragon Force, he would be 121.36 times the speed of light, if you believe in it being a speed multiplier.

As for Asta, currently he's also above pretty much every feat from the series, so let's see what he gets. Asta was able to react to a Divine Ray of Punishment, which is 0.15c or 15% the Speed of Light. However there's more that Asta can scale to, like Yami reacting to Morgen's Light Magic, which can get to 0.5c. But similar to Asta, Nozel was able to react to a Divine Ray of Punishment, which gets from 18% to 89% the Speed of Light. But another feat early on for Asta to scale to would be Mereleona blitzing Raia, which would be 15.66 times the Speed of Light. Now you might think multipliers would be added, but Zetten likely does not apply to speed, so only using other multipliers like 2 times. Asta would be 31.32 times the Speed of Light

In conclusion, Natsu would only be 3 times faster than Asta, but it doesn't factor in that Asta would be massively upscale Mereleona at that time to an unknown degree, so the difference would likely be less but still lean Natsu by a bit.

Arsenal/Abilities

Natsu is a Fire Dragon Slayer, a flame user for short, being able to manipulate, create, and absorb fire by fucking eating it, like Gamera. Natsu has plenty of long range attacks that would allow him to give distance against Asta, who's primarily a sword fighter. Natsu being able to use Lightning Magic also gives him another elemental power to attack with.

Asta's side meanwhile has plenty to go with, for one he's used to long range fights like Dante and Sister Lily, this is due to the fact that he can fly to cut distance between him and his opponent. Even when he has to play keep away, Asta can launch Anti-Magic slashes thx to certain abilities, or use Black Hurricane to destroy any magic attacks coming at him, like in his fight with Dante

But for this section, this is where draws start to be made. Due to anti magic’s nature, it’s easy to assume at first that Asta should naturally win this section, I mean, fighting a magic user should be it and we can move on, right? But the reality of the matter is, it’s complicated. Asta’s anti-magic is very powerful yes, but Natsu’s own physical strength is consistently portrayed as comparable to his own magic, like when Natsu fought Sting and Rogue, or most recently, Natsu physically pushing back Dragon Form Viernes's stomp, a good example of his physical strength being relative enough to his magic. Natsu himself isn’t a stranger to magic nullification, as he has dealt with it early in the series in his fight with Yuka on Galuna Island, being able to overwhelm his nullification.

On Asta’s side, things aren’t as lucky. Natsu’s fire has demonstrated to reach as high as 200 million degrees celsius, WAY higher than any heat Asta has ever encountered, even with his own heat resistance from having been in fire magic zones and having experience against fire users such as the fire salamander, this is simply too much for him, though Asta can still counter it with the Demon Destroyer sword being able to negate the effects of passive spells, so he certainly wasn’t out of the game because of it, though you could make the argument that this effect would be delivered directly to Asta via Natsu’s punches. 

Either way, both have abilities that can in theory overpower the other, and in all fairness they do bring genuine problems for both, but it’s not enough to take the other down (we are also not considering Natsu giving a tan as an implication that he has UV radiation as an argument that he can give cancer to Asta both because there’s no evidence for that but also…come on dude).

So what turns the tide? Let’s talk about their stamina, forms, and outlasting.

This was a big factor despite seemingly not being much at first, while both have incredible feats of stamina and the “anime power” to keep fighting against all odds, Asta ironically showed greater feats in base than Natsu ever did. During his training with the vice captain of the black bulls, Nacht, Asta managed to keep training for 2 days without sleep, tough it’s important to note that he had the help of magic food supply from spade kingdom resistance members that restored his strength and healed his wounds, and it’s unsure how much of the heavy lifting this food supply did, but still, not needing to sleep and keep on fighting for such a long period of time is far higher than any examples on Natsu’s side, so you’d think that would end the discussion right there, right? As Natsu’s best showings of endurance were nowhere near this high

But the key factor lies in both characters at their strongest. See, for Asta, he needs to be at his strongest to match Natsu, and Asta’s unite forms can only last up to 10 minutes, after that he not only is paralyzed with pain and is a sitting duck for half an hour while Natsu can keep fighting for much longer at his strongest, as he has shown to be able to keep fighting hours on end even when he was already exhausted, such as during the war against the Alvarez empire, where he was already seriously injured through having multiple fights against so many characters in succession, he still had enough to throw hands with Acnologia for a significant period of time. By comparison, Asta’s limit of 10 minutes in unite by comparison is a huge limitation that can’t be worked around, as even if he didn’t get completely paralysed in pain, his base form is much weaker than even Natsu at his base. 

So ultimately, Natsu’s longevity feats show that he’s far more capable of keeping a fight going at his peak, giving him the W in this category.

Now another section where both are very comparable to one another, I mean, at first Natsu seems to be taking the edge, he can memorize all his opponents movements and abilities by just fighting with them once, plus he is generally more experienced which was still a factor at the end of the day. However Asta wasn’t short of it either, being able to sense Ki and understanding his opponents emotions and intents, plus knowing a fighting style specifically designed to not allow opponents from reading his movements, on top of being a very skilled fighter in his own right, managing to fight on even field much more experienced fighters, was all the reason to even the field on this category, making this one a draw.

Conclusion

Natsu

 “I am not alone... everyone's feelings... they support me... they are what give me the will to stand and fight!"

 Advantages:  

• Relative in stats in their strongest forms

• Higher forms last longer then Asta’s, giving him an edge in longevity

• Superior base stats

• Heat is far hotter then his opponent’s heat resistances, meaning he could likely burn Asta

• More experienced

• Just as combat intelligent and skilled

• Can potentially negate some of the effects of Anti Magic with his flames…

• Physical showings mean he could keep up even with Anti Magic as a problem

• His Death Battle episode wasn’t great but it was marginally better

Disadvantages:

• Inferior base stamina showings

• …but Anti Magic has similar showings of power nullification and would cancel out most of Natsu’s best attacks

Asta

“Maybe you weren't chosen, maybe no one wanted you, and maybe you can't be forgiven, but you still have to stand your ground without making excuses for yourself!”

Advantages:

• Just as strong and fast in his highest forms…

• More impressive stamina showings in base 

• Anti Magic can negate much of Natsu’s magic

• Can undo burns via Demon Destroyer sword

• Equivalent showings in combat intelligence and skill

Disadvantages:

• …But, said forms have a time limit, meaning he would run out of his strongest forms first

• Inferior stats in base

• Heat resistances are below the showings of Natsu’s flames, meaning they would likely burn him

• Natsu’s power nullification via his flames could arguably burn through Anti Magic

• Less experienced

• His Death Battle episode was ass

This was an extremely long, difficult and tiresome debate, both have relative stats in power through their higher ends and their abilities and skills were very comparable, using their best scaling with Acnologia and Dante’s black hole, plus all their multipliers through their different forms, they’re very comparable to one another, meaning no side would truly one shot the other. Same for their abilities, as they both have equally powerful hax that can severely affect the outcome of this fight, but neither had absolute game changer abilities that would put down the other for good. Ultimately though, Natsu had a few more wincons that would edge him the win.

And finally as far as their ties are concerned, there is their skill and experience in combat, which is also very comparable as well, as both Natsu and Asta are incredibly intelligent and strategic characters that are more than capable of using what they have at their disposal to the best of their abilities. Natsu would still be generally more experienced compared to Asta who has only been in the field for about 3 years, but being able to read Natsu’s life force and knowing a fighting technique specifically designed to not allow opponents to read his movements was enough to make it so they also won’t be one upping each other.

Speed is where things start to side to the Dragon slayer’s side. Despite both having lightspeed feats, at their best, Natsu’s upscaling from the particle cannon means at best Natsu will be fast enough to overwhelm Asta, as his best scaling from the Mereoleona feat is still slower. And while it’s important to note that Asta at the current state of the series far eclipses Mereoleona at that time, there is no clear picture of how fast, so at best you could say that they would be relative, and even then, due to Morgen’s light magic being a struggle for Yami to keep up means baseline speed of light would still be relevant to the series, meaning no matter how you look at it, at best they are comparable and at worst, Natsu would be faster, making this aspect lean more towards Natsu.

Even with the drawbacks he would receive from anti magic, his own physical strength being equal to his magic meant that he would simply outlast Asta in physical combat, not even mentioning how his power nullification could potentially burn through anti magic to which Asta would have no counter for. But the most important and key aspect to all of this, the longevity of the fight. Asta needs his unite forms to keep up with Natsu, and when he only truly has 10 minutes to do so, the only way to truly take the victory is by having a way to beat Natsu within those 10 minutes, and that’s how the relative APs that both have come back to haunt the magic knight. Asta can keep Natsu at bay for a while, even being arguably able to shut down a lot of his fire abilities, but the fact that his physical strength is comparable to his magic power and his longevity being far higher means that these drawbacks wouldn’t last for long. Eventually Asta wouldn’t be able to handle and finally lose, and with extreme difficulty, Natsu would win.

It was a shocking outcome at first for all of us and not what we were expecting when we started. The flaw of the world’s anti magic and demonic strength made for a worthy challenge against Natsu, but against the Dragon Slayer’s might, staying power, and speed, Asta simply flamed out in the end.

The winner is Natsu Dragneel.
